DU Activist Corps LTTE Poll

Several of the LTTEs regarding Rove have been published (yay!). Someone suggested a poll in another thread so here it is! I know that I'm curious about the percentage sent and published so let's see if we can get an idea of how many made it into the papers. Name the paper and post a link to the published letter if you want!

2. many of us do not see wisdom in outing our screen names by linking to

a letter with our real names at the end of it. Please understand, this is not always the safest thing for many people to do. Some have sensitive jobs while others live in areas with a high concentration of loonies. Some take enough risk just signing a LTTE and do not need the added surveillance from noisy neighbors by outing their online persona.

5. And I wanted to give people a little to think about before they offer link

which would out their anonymous online identity. I noticed the "if you want to' but feel people need to think about the ramifications of doing so. A little warning is in order as many are new to online discussion and may not be as up on the fact that we have people out there keeping track of many people's posts.

For a quick and sometimes astounding lesson, google your screen name once in awhile. Might be surprised who all is watching DU members and keeping a record of posts.

4. I have not heard anything yet.

The first Rove LTTE was in my paper this morning. My paper ignores a lot of stuff, I am guessing if there was just now a letter that they have gotten a bunch of them or it would not have been published. I will let everyone know if I get the call.

Our big issue right now is the fact that little kiddies were not thrown candy during a parade. That and noisy fireworks. :shrug:

6. Mine has not been published, but I did not think it would be.

They published one of mine on the DSM a few weeks ago. But they have published other letter re Rove that were similar to mine, so it fine with me.

I didn't know they were going to run it until I looked through the paper last night and there it was.
I'd put a link up, but, the paper wants money to read it's online version, I'm not concerned about using my name, in fact I seriously considered changing over to it after the theft.
It's listed in my profile for the world to see.

9. Yesterday and the timing was great for this project!

I'll admit that I was ticked that some of the most effective (damning to Rove)info. was edited out, but still it was printed.

11. Shugah, if it's helpful, in mapping I have counted 29 after searching

threads and getting a couple of IMs about ones I missed.

I would be very curious to know how many participated.

I hope we get to see one for all of our efforts although I know it is probably a lot of work.

I wrote one and while I'm an east coaster, my letter was to a midwestern paper where I'm visiting. They have not called me but the day before I sent the letter, they printed a long LTTE on Karl Rove that looked like it could have been written from a DU-er. I was in awe--it was really good.

20. It is rare for the Indianapolis Star to publish anything critical of Bush

I submitted my letter via the paper's web form, but it was not published. There are several DUers that live in Indianapolis and I am certain that they too submitted their letters, but I haven't seen anything critical of the Rove situation.

Write a letter blaming the Clintons for the Iraq insurgency and I am certain that it will be published!

the Lansing State Journal, although they have published a couple of anti-Rove letters this week.

They seem to favor a more partisan approach to their letter selection.

Printed July 21st (smartvoter already caught me for the map :bounce: ) - first LTTE that ever made it to ink for me!

Sent 2 - they went w/the 'nicer' one! LOL

Bakersfield, California - that's behind the enemy lines in CA, rimjob (freeper central) is only @ an hour away from here!

I've already 'heard' @ it from some repub family members, they aren't happy. Seems some think 'freedom of speech' isn't supposed to apply to dems!
