Skinner - can I suggest this as something EVERYONE can do? |
|
I don't know why I didn't think of ot before, but I must admit it was not my suggestion.
Another DU poster has said she/he has a candle in the window in support of Cindy. Why not make this national? I know several people are doing it, but is there any way we here at DU can start a co-ordinated effort to make this thing go?
We have strength in numbers, and the sight of thousands upon thousands of candles in support of Cindy Sheehan and the anti-war movement would gather a bit of media attention as well.

4. Better than a real candle |
|
No real candles in the window for me--too dangerous with windowsill-sitting cats. And the electric version isn't practical either because we have an old house with a shortage of electrical outlets. I like the idea of a paper version.

9. I really like this idea, too, but my first thought was also of the cat... |
|
I love the idea of lights, since they'll show up at night, but a flaming cat just isn't worth it. And this one is incorrigible, still occasionally gets up on the stove and sniffs the air, looking puzzled, wondering where that singed-cat-tail smell is coming from! Yikes! :scared::eyes:

2. I think it is a great idea. |

And, stores are starting to show Christmas lights, (already :eyes:), so if you didn't have one, or weren't sure where yours were....

3. Also, we should all be flying our flags at half-staff... |

...and encouraging organizations and businesses in our areas to do the same!

6. I like this idea as well |
|
if we could come up with one united symbol to the cause that would be great. I think we need to decide which candle we will be using and what poster. Maybe a poster that all of us use with our choice of candles would work as well.
