Ready, Set, Write!!! Frist Freezes Senate Probe of Prewar Iraq Data
I cannot fucking believe what I'm reading in today's Washington Post:

Angry about a leaked Democratic memo, the Republican leadership of the Senate yesterday took the unusual step of canceling all business of the committee investigating prewar intelligence on Iraq.

Majority Leader Bill Frist (R-Tenn.) called on the author of the memo -- which laid out a possible Democratic strategy to extend the investigation to include the White House and executive branch -- to "identify himself or herself . . . disavow this partisan attack in its entirety" and deliver "a personal apology" to Sen. Pat Roberts (R-Kan.), chairman of the Select Committee on Intelligence.

Only if those steps are taken, Frist said, "will it be possible for the committee to resume its work in an effective and bipartisan manner -- a manner deserving of the confidence of other members of the Senate and the executive branch."

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/articles/A14010-2003Nov7.html

Have we shut down the white house until the Valerie Plame leaker comes forward to "identify himself or herself . . . disavow this partisan attack in its entirety"?

I'm going to write my reps, write my senator, write my local paper, write to the Washington Post, and every liberal or even semi sane columnist I can find an e-mail address for, and I hope you will do the same.

1. I have to ask myself why Frist isn't as outraged as we are and
as committed to getting the information from the White House. Things have been stalled for too long and this little hissy tangent of his will do him no good. In the end, people are going to want to know why he's helping the Bush Administration stall something we all know is inevitable.

3. I wrote, I called and I faxed!!!
Of course, being Saturday I got answering machines... but hey... Everyone of us should be getting ahold of our represenatives, Dem or Rep to complain about this...

This was my letter/fax... phone calls I had to keep pausing to not call Frist a fuck...

Sen. Frist stopping the work of the committee investigating 9/11 because of a leaked memo is insane. I hope you and the rest of the Democrats, along with some of the Republicans, I'm sure, stand up and scream on the Sunday talk shows, and every news outlet from now on until he reverses his decision. Placing partisan politics above the safety of America is a slap in the face of every person killed on 9/11, thier families and our men and women serving in the Middle East. I expect a loud outcry against this misuse of power.

Sincerely,

:grr: :nuke: :grr:
