Who wants to participate in polling American voters? |
|
We all complain about biased polling but few of us ever do anything about it! So I'm sitting here thinking, why don't a group of us do our own poll? We would need to do a number of things:
1) Research the science of polling 2) Develop a set of questions and a methodology to minimize bias and the chance of fraud 3) Recruit pollsters from amongst ourselves
I think we should do some phone polling and also some direct in-person polling in malls, coffee houses, and neighborhood streets. It seems most polls are by phone, but so few people answer their phone anymore I think that introduces a significant error.
Is this worth the effort? Is it silly? What do you think?

I think they're doing what you're talking about. I sent them an e-mail volunteering to help, but haven't heard back (yet).

ever been actually CALLED by a national pollster? I am 34 and have NEVER been called once. Not Gallup, not zogby, NO ONE!
I consider myself normal, average American joe-consumer. So why am I not included in a normal poll? How do I get on their lists?
