Bradenton
Saturday, March 20, 2004 - Global Day of Protest Against the War Solidarity action. Rossi Riverfront Park, noon-2PM. The event will include music and a keynote speaker, Rev. Charles McKenzie, as well as a visual tribute to America's fallen sons and daughters in the military. The event is free and open to the public. The Southwest Florida Peace Coalition asks that any signs or banners brought be respectful and consistent with the intent of the event. Parking is available adjacent to the park and throughout downtown Bradenton. Rossi Riverfront Park is on the south side of the Manatee River and accessed from 9th Street West in Bradenton. Those coming from I-75 should take the State Road 64 exit and head west to 9th Street West. Turn north (right) on 9th St. W.. The entrance will be on the right. Saturday, March 20, 2004 - Global Day of Protest Against the War solidarity action. 5 PM, Bayview Park. We will be holding a candle light vigil to mourn the thousands of men, women, children and civilians, both American and Iraqi, who have died, and who are still dying, because of the ongoing conflict in Iraq. This event is being organized by high-school students, but is free and open to the public. Come out and show your support. Remember what Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Those of us who love peace must organize as effectively as the warhawks. As they spread the propaganda of war, we must spread the propaganda of peace." We will be placing 535 white 2 foot crosses on the beach here in Naples Fl laid out like Arlington Cemetery each cross representing one dead American soldier and 20 dead Iraq's. Saturday, March 20, 2004 - Protest racist Chasco festival. We ask all human beings to join us March 20th at 11:00 a.m.  in a protest against the racist Chasco Fiesta. We will meet in the Lowe's parking lot at the intersection of Ridge and Little Roads in New Port Richey on that date and disperse to various protest locations on the parade route. Saturday, March 20, 2004 - Day of international actions, on the one year anniversary of the invasion of Iraq. noon-2:30 p.m., protest against the U.S. occupation of Iraq and for the immediate withdrawal of all U.S. forces from that country; at the corner of Bumby and Colonial, Orlando; this protest is in solidarity with the national protest occurring this day in Washington, D.C.
