Both did not agree with Dean's comments about the killing of Hussein's sons (though I agree with Dean - the ends don't justify the means). But with Tweety egging him on, McCain blasted Dean - acknowledged that the two are sometimes compared, but he made it clear, he does not see the similarity.
He felt Dean's comments were over the top, and he should retract them.
