Will Kerry be endorsed by NALC ? |
|
As the National Association of Letter Carriers kicks their convention off in Honolulu today, I'm wondering if the 300,000 member organization will announce their support for John Kerry for president before concluding business July 23. NALC is an affiliate of AFL- CIO.
8,000 delegates will vote on various propositions and resolutions during the week-long convention which is held every two years. Will they be presented with the opportunity to endorse the 2004 presidential candidate? The 100-year-old union endorsed Al Gore in 2000.
The 2002 convention was hosted Philadelphia and featured Sen. John Edwards as guest speaker.
I'm going to be busy as a delegate but I'll try to keep DUers posted on the question I raised.
Well, I'm off to the assembly. ciao

1. It's official, the letter carriers's union supports Kerry/ Edwards. |

The vote was put to the membership delegates in today about 1:30 pm Hawaiian time.
The reaction of the delegates was something to behold.
We have a winner on our hands.
