UPDATE: AUGUST 29TH RALLY IN NYC!!!

Assembly Area, March Route, and Rally Location
We will assemble at 10:00AM between 14th Street and 23rd Street, stretching from Sixth to Eighth Avenues. The march will kick off at noon from 23rd Street and head up Seventh Avenue past Madison Square Garden. It will then turn west on 34th Street and head over to West Street, also known as the West Side Highway. We will proceed south on West Street to the rally site, which will stretch north from Chambers Street.

Soleft is helping me to find a meeting place for where we can meet around 8:30am for breakfast & coffee. We'll organize there and head over to the march sometime before 10am so we can rally together. Stay tune for more details

2. Flushing Meadow is in Queens...
That is where I heard the "protest" area is supposed to be. Something like 15 miles from Madison Square Garden. Has that changed?

so we won't be relegated back to the free speech zone. We actually have the permit for downtown Manhatten

3. I hope MetroNorth is running that day.
I don't think driving in is going to work. I'll be there if I can get there!

6. I know a great place to meet!
I work at an organic coffee house on Jane Street & 8th Ave. (2 blocks away from 14th). They open at 7am and have plenty of seating. I could try and reserve some space if you'd like.

7. I would get in touch with Soleft here at DU
She also lives in NYC and going to find a place for us to meet. We thought if it was something near a small park, we could meet at the park and people could just get breakfast to go and join us there. But I'm really letting it up to her.

However, if you have a great suggestion - just go to profiles and look up soleft then send her a private message. I'm sure she'll be happy for any recommendation for where we can meet.

To be honest, I have no idea right now how many DUers will be coming, but I'm guestimating well over 30. Could be more?

Thanks for the information!
