Dean/Gore (rich), Kerry/Kennedy (wealthy), Clark/Clinton (working class) |
|
Isn't Kennedy endorsing Kerry?
Dean/Gore and Kerry/Kennedy are all from filthy rich "established" families - Kennedy obviously, Kerry certainly, Gore was a Senator's son and Dean is of course the Park Avenue former Wall Streeter.
But the Clark/Clinton team is different - both of them grew up in working class families, if not poor, and got rich and powerful in no small part due to their Rhodes Scholarships, and joining up with that network. Neither Clinton nor Clark could ever coast, or slide by, they would have had no chance without some serious intelligence and determination (along with a massive dose of ego I would think).
I wonder how Clinton's and Clark's modest backgrounds influenced them compared to their upper class counterparts?

3. simply because they are the candidate ahead right now |
|
as far as I can tell. A candidate plus their major endorsement, unofficial or otherwise.

4. Clark: All brass, no stripes! |
|
Up-bringing does not character mold.
I'm rather tired of these "snipes" at certain candidates for their "status" in society.
Clark had four-stars, I had four-stripes....so what? To counter your proposal, I'd like to remind you that Clark is the product of West Point, the croney Institution of the military elite.
The premise that certain personal backgrounds are what makes character is very much off the mark. But, that's just my opinion.

6. Yes, Kennedy endorsed Kerry a long time ago |
|
That's an obvious one.
One thing I really like about Kerry is that while he did come from a privileged background (though NOT filthy rich), it led him to believe that he should work towards helping everyone have similar privileges: good education, health care, etc.
