Difficult races for Congress expected (Texas)
AUSTIN - After tilting the district maps in their favor and picking up a party-switcher, Republicans have never been closer to winning the Texas congressional seats they have long coveted.

But the next big step -- winning five elections against sitting Democratic congressmen -- won't be cheap or painless, both sides say.

Some of the five Democrats are already sitting on sizable war chests, and the Republicans can expect resources to pour in with the help of a popular, Texas-bred president and the driven U.S. House majority leader, Rep. Tom DeLay, R-Sugar Land.

That and a dearth of competitive U.S. House races nationwide will make Texas ground zero in the battle for Congress this November, party insiders say.

1. Tom DeLay is my number 2 repuke I would like to see lose.
#1 being * of course. I would like to see them sent packing for playing dirty politics and I don't even live in Texas.

2. It would be great if
after fixing these "elections" the rethugs still lose. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, once again the extreme court's true colors have been shown.
