What is the status of the Reform Party? |
|
What I'd like to see, if Dean decides he has to drop out, is for Dean to form a new third party and run again in 2008. If the Reform Party is no longer there, could the name be used?
I'll vote for whatever Dem this cycle, but I don't want to give up on the Dean "movement". At first I thought we could ride this out, but the media will talk about this until Dean drops out I am afraid.

1. We have the money to ride this out |
|
we are doing all 50 states; I don't know what Kerry's plan is or if he has anything else to mortgage.
Perhaps by Carolina we will see where his money truly comes from.

2. Money may get us through all 50 states |

But if Dean wins the nomination, Rove and idiot boy will replay this for Nov. I ain't giving up - but I am examining plan B's and C's for the Dean movement. I'm in until the end for Dean, and for me, the end ain't when or if Dean drops out.

5. Let's run in '04!! The Dean Party. We can discuss names later but why |
|
not have a Dean Convention this year. Go head to head. We all know Dean's been running a 3rd party position the entire race and is 100% opposed by the party leadership/establishment. Read the DLC webpage today and ask yourself why we put up with this. They don't want a Dean candidate or us. Let's move out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

6. It splintered into 2 parties |
|
It splintered into Reform and American Reform. Incessant infighting caused then Govenor Ventura to bolt reform altogether and form a third Independence Party. Its really done as national third party movement. Green and Libertarian remain. 9. It never really was a party |
|
It was just a vehicle for Ross Perot. Once Ross was gone, it collapsed.

10. In 1998 Ventura became 1st elected Reform Party Governor |
|
And the party imploded in 2000 after the showdown in Lynchburg between Jack Gargan and Pat Choate.

11. Dean movement (if loses nom.) should move to AM&UHF |
|
Dean has talked about needing to be a voice, draw new people to the process, etc. These are great goals, but a third-party run defeats the purpose for which the voices are calling.
The revolution should move to the airwaves. Dean's shown himself to be someone who has what it takes for talk radio and TV, as well as having a loyal following, and a potential for self-sustaining finance, the same thing that keeps "Christian" media going.
If he wins the nomination, he gets my vote. But if he doesn't, he should move to the airwaves.
