After seeing Evan Bayh on the beltway boys
I have made my final decision!

The DLC is dead to me. They are dinos pure and simple completely out of touch with what I believe the democratic party stands for. The fact that they would try to tear down any democratic candidate is the last straw!

Screw the DLC and screw any candidate they endorse!

I cant wait for the transcripts of this show to be released. These pigs need to be exposed for the republican apologizers they are!

They need to start thier own party or I need to get out of this one I am not sure wich!

4. "DLC is the constantly lose party"
I don't think that's true, since our only president in the past 23 years was a DLCer.

Having said that, I have been disappointed with them lately, because they trash Howard Dean. I don't see why they'd want to divide our party like that. To beat Bush, we need leftists AND centrists, not one or the other.

The Democratic base will finish this.

There are way more of us than there are Corporatist DLCers.

10. hear hear
If we're gonna win, we have to accept liberals and moderates under our lovely (and, no doubt, American made) big tent.
As a Hoosier, I constantly go back and forth on whether or not I will vote for Evan Bayh in 2004, but, in a state like Indiana, Evan Bayh is as good as it gets. He votes for Tom Daschle, and votes against judges like Estrada and Owens (he certainly crosses lines frequently, but he also sticks with us frequently). We have to understand that people like Evan Bayh have a meaningful place in our party while, at the same time, standing up for our ideals (especially when it comes to our presidential nominee).
While Kennedy, Clinton, et al., are our heart and soul, Bayh, Landrieu, and Lieberman have their place as well.
We must stop being critical of each other.... and we need to be united. If we aren't united, you can kiss 2004 goodbye; only unity will bring a democrat into the white house (and the speakers office, etc) in 2004.

However, I think that what he said is extremely inappropriate for a Democrat to say about other democrats. I'm not saying that he should lose his seat to a republican but I can still critisize him without wanting a republican in his seat.

25. But too many DUers think like that
They are so "pure" that with their approach they would be perfectly happy if we had only 35 Senate Seats, 150 House Seats, and 10 Governorship because they would be "perfect". They would not be able to do much of anything, but they would be "true" Democrats.

u think a true liberal could be elected senator from indiana? given today's political climate. we need more bayh's from more states like indiana. of course, we should have no use for bayh's in states that we don't need him, but in indiana, he is absolutely perfect.

Mark the date. I said it. I know he's not running in this cycle, but I'm making this bold prediction that someday he will be President.

(Doesn't mean I like him - I actually don't, and despite the fact that I'm for Graham, the more I hear people - PARTICULARLY other Democrats - diss Dean the more I like the guy.)

that damned LIBERAL!~! Time to move even closer to the center...

Hell, we need a fucking standard for the Parties. Blue to the GOP, White for the party of moderation "that's us"..., and red for all the third party wackos who are a goddamned threat!

If you do not put your label on every morning before leaving home, you will by law be arrested for being a threat to homeland security. Let us all be modest about this and, except the fact that a radical and unrestrained message is just too much for the voters to handle. Let polling guide us to our future, and supporting new department funding and tax cuts prove our commitment to morality and patriotism.

What a jackass. He was basically saying that Bush is better than Dean. He kept on going on about how bad some of the liberals are on national security and how they are weak on defense.

Here is my theory.

Bayh is trying to sabotage any potential presidential nominee, particularly Dean. Then, Bush will win and Bayh can run for president in 2008. His problem is he will NEVER win the democratic nomination.

24. Not all are even moderates
Some of those senators don't really belong in any organization that is supposed to be moderate.

Cantwell, Edwards, Kohl, Johnson, Stabenow and even Conrad are all fairly liberal. They probably just pretend to be moderates so that they can win elections. The same thing is in the house. The New Democratic Coalition isn't entirely moderates.

Unless the Democrat is a raving Marxist they won't support them. They would be perfectly fine if the Democrats were an ineffectual minority. If the Democrats held only 35 Senate seats, 10 Governorships, and 150 House Seats, they would be happy. Even though they could do nothing they would happy with them since they would be "true" Democrats.

They would rather have a minority that could do ZERO than get only part of what they want.

When it comes to some of the Senators you have listed, they have done more harm than good. A vote for Dascle isn't enough, we need some agreement to oppose tax cuts with our huge debt, and agreement on what level of intellegence information to expect from the President before supporting the invasion of another country.

These Senators are more interested in their own re-election and helping shrub than the country's national interest, or the fiscal impact of their votes. They include Tim Johnson, Mary Landrui, Ben Nelson, Herb Kohl, and Zell Miller.
