Sen. Webb - Please come forward to counter Gen. Clark! We need you - Sen. Webb for VP!!!!
I have emailed Sen. Webb and asked him to at least say both Sen. Clinton and Sen. Obama are equally ready to be our next President! This stuff of our own Party members saying one or the other is not qualified is getting unbelievable!

Dylan Loewe agrees with me in the Huffington Post Piece that Senator Webb would be a dream VP for Obama:

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/dylan-loewe/why-jim-webb-...

(snip)

There is one man, however, who fits the mold so utterly perfectly that his presence on the ticket, his presence in the universe for that matter, is the stuff of fiction, a choice that makes one wonder if any of this is real. But, in the unlikely story of Barack Obama, one should no longer be surprised.

Senator Jim Webb was elected to the U.S. Senate in a bitter battle against George Allen, a man who at the time was viewed as a likely presidential contender, and who will, instead, long be remembered as the creator of the "Macaca moment." Prior to the Senate, Webb served as Secretary of the Navy under Ronald Reagan and before that, he was a decorated Vietnam Veteran. His rise in the Senate was remarkable in its speed and depth, and would likely be the subject of closer attention had his fellow Senator, Barack Obama, not coined the meteoric rise only two years before. On his first day in office, he introduced the 21st century version of the GI Bill, designed to provide identical benefits to post 9/11 veterans as those of World War II. He has offered amendments requiring that soldiers be given the same time at home as length of deployment, and most recently, he has threatened legal action against the Bush administration for reneging on its promise to redeploy 30,000 troops out of Iraq. He serves on the Foreign Relations Committee, the Armed Services Committee, and the Committee on Veterans Affairs. In short, his military credentials are substantial and his position on Iraq, unimpeachable.

..............

I am going to email Sen. Webb and beg him to speak up and I hope and pray he will be Obama's VP choice!!!

A great American - Senator Jim Webb!!!:patriot:

1. I am willing to bet Webb will be the choice
He is a very good speaker, presents himself well, and has a great resume.

2. right his resume includes having been a republican
until a few years ago. wasn't he also sec. of something or other in reagans administration. i know he's a southern conservative democrat. and i thought i remembered him being pro life. maybe obama could get cheney to be his veep, that would really bring the crossover voters lol.

Raised in a politically conservative household, at age thirteen she helped canvass South Side Chicago following the very close 1960 U.S. presidential election, finding evidence of electoral fraud against Republican candidate Richard Nixon, and volunteered for Republican candidate Barry Goldwater in the U.S. presidential election of 1964.

8. wow
so in 1964 when she was 17 she supported goldwater. of course she couldn't vote for him as she wasn't old enough. that's not quite the same as webb having been in reagans administration tho is it.
good try tho.

a lot of things said about the clintons, but i don't recall her ever having been a repub. i'm pretty sure she bill were both democrats when i voted for him in 92 & 96. and she's a member of the senate as the democratic senator from ny. are you an obama supporter. i know how much some of his supporters like to just make shit up. is that what happened here.

7. It seems to me that Webb is very moderate...and also it seems to
me that he has voted on a few things I did not like...I would be interested in a little more progressive...maybe I would be asking for a little too much...

10. Some say there was pressure for the vote - not sure what it was though.
I agree it was a surprise to me but you cannot have someone that votes for everything just the way you would. All in all he is an excellent fit for Sen. Obama.

i like the thing he wrote called "why women can't fight"
am also reading about his aide getting caught carrying a loaded pistol that belonged to webb into the senate office building. sweet. he would certainly help deliver the freeper vote.

14. You know it is beyond me why someone who says they are a Democrat does things to hurt our party....
Sen. Webb is an American Hero! You can say all you want and tear him down like HRC does Obama but that just make you more desperate. Why don't you join the Repub's too!

16. why don't you
kiss my ass.
i think webb is a great senator. being from virginia he has to be a lot more conservative than the senators from MA but that doesn't mean he would be a good veep. if the obama supporters are screaming that obama is the only candidate that is truly progressive, then webb makes no sense as the veep, and as far as change goes, a moderate republican who ran as a democrat isn't the change i was looking for.
i've voted for the democratic candidate in every election for 20 years, and to the best of my knowledge you don't have the authority to have me removed from the party. how i vote isn't your lookout

Your comments are very harsh and I am getting tired of HRC supporters being always on the hunt to bring down Obama supporters! :argh:

18. well then
maybe a public forum isn't the best fit for you, if you only want opinions that agree with yours.
you posted something i disagree with and i told you why i disagreed with it. you were the one who brought hillary into it a few posts back. webb was a repub, but you didn't speak to that or his conservative positions, instead you mentioned how hillary was a republican 40 years ago.
poor obama supporter everybody picks on you, and is mean to obama. good god it's an election. if you get this bent out of shape now just wait till the repub echo camber and slime machine starts.

I don't mind good quality feedback but you called me a liar about Hillary being a Republican in her college days and I had to reply 3 times to you to prove I wasn't lying. You set to tone!

20. i never called you a liar
i posted that she was 17 when she supported goldwater, and made the point that it wasn't quite the same as webb having held a cabinet position under reagan. you want to imply that hillary is a crossover repub, but she hasn't been a repub for 40 years. you don't mind good quality feedback as long as it agrees with you. btw i was an edwards supporter.

That would make her 21 years old I believe.

23. I didn't say that! It is just that a person had said Webb used to be a Repub & I replied not to be
hard on someone because they used to be a Repub! Don't put words in my mouth. I really don't care if Hillary was or not! I just think Obama is the best candidate and I think that Webb would be the best VP for him. Simple as that!~

24. No.
My Senator is about to become the SENIOR Senator of the Commonwealth of Virginia and with some luck will be joined by our former Governor Mark Warner. Virgina will then have TWO Democrats from capital of the confederacy in the US Senate. How out****ingstanding is that? You would have to live here to really appreciate the experience of watching the pukes cry.
