Clark is more like Carter and Clinton than the other candidates in many more ways than the other current candidates.
Let us start with Carter.
Carter started off poor in a southern city. He worked hard, and eventually went to the Naval Academy. He excelled in everything he did.
Clinton was born under a different name William Jefferson Blyith. He mother later remarried and changed her name to Clinton, as did Bill.
He grew up in a southern city and became a Oxford Graduate and a Rhoads Scholar.
Clark was born in Michigan in the same city as Hillary Clinton. He later moved to Arkansas just like Hillary. He was raised in Little Rock. His father, Kanne died when Wesley was a small boy and his mother remarried and changed her name to Clark.
Clark when to West Point, and graduated first in his class, he then went to Oxford as Rhoades Scholar.
In essence, if you combine the childhoods and education of Carter and Clinton, you get Clark.
Clinton and Clark also both both worked for the Stephens Corperation that finded Clinton's primary run.
I find it odd that he has such similar backgrounds as the Clintons and Carter. He is also close to Johnson in many ways.
All the Democratic Presidents since 1948, except Kennedy that barely won, were from the South, Clinton, Carter, Johnson, and Trueman.
Most of the other candidates grew up wealthy in North Western states. Which is not a common trait of most the candidates.
Gephardt is probably the next closest. His father was a milkman and he was born in Missouri.

Another stupid little point. They all have similar last names. Start with "C" the most common letter of the number of elected Presidents since 1892. All the Democrats that won defeated current sitting presidents. Cleveland defeated Harrison, Carter defeated Ford, and Clinton defeated Bush Sr.

1. Uh, Chicago's in Illinois, not Michigan.
That having been said, Clark does have a bio like Clinton's, and if he gets the nomination, it would shrink Curious George down to size.

Carter comes from a quasi-aristocratic land-owning (and slave-owning) family; he certainly didn't "start off poor." And Clark's bios suggest that he comes from a relatively well-to-do background, though not a wealthy one. I'm a Clark supporter, and I don't regard this as either a point against him or for him. But of the three, only Clinton can claim something like a Southern "poor white" background.
