I have posted this before but it was erased with the DU switch. Without the flames, I just want some of you to know that Wesley Clark, owing to his experience, credentials, brilliance, and oratory ability, may have the best chance of defeating Bush of all the candidates.

I know. I know -- "He's not running". But he may and he may be our only chance at ousting Bush. He won't run if there is not enough support and that is what I am trying to get.

He has every credential in the world and is solidly moderate to progressive on the important issues. He would make an excellent President, one who could unite and heal the country.

I am not here to dis-respect your candidates but I think if you are not sure or undecided, study Clark. If you are suitably impressed, then join our movement, it is an exciting time for us and we would like to bring more aboard.

to see that at least a moderate Democrat gets elected in 2004. At this point I'm not backing any one candidate, and I've only eliminated one (Lieberman, aka Mr. Video-Game-Ban).

3. I still consider myself undecided

If Clark decided to run, he'd be my man. I love the guy. As you can see by my avatar, I'm ex-military, but that's not why he appeals to me. I can't really put my finger on it, but I hope he decides soon.

5. Clark is the Real Chance for Democrats

After looking at all the records. CLark truly has the least negatives then any of the other Democrats. I don't suppose most people will see that. Instead they say things like, "Well, he isn't experienced enough he was General". Big deal, I say. He was top in class at west Point. Has degrees in pol. sci,Phil.,Economics and a
is a Rhodes Scholar. He has worked in the White House during the Ford administration. He won a war without a single battle field casualty. He was second in charge of the Office of Management and Budget while Dean and Bush were trying to ween themselves from the bottle.
Calling Wesley K Clark just a "general" is like calling a great white shark "just a fish". It shows profound ignorance on behalf of the speaker.

But no, Dean supporters are bound to prove Clark, Kerry, Gephardt, Lieberman, Edwards, and Kucinich supports that they are dead right by supporting Dean for the nomination and leading the Democrats to a dismale defeat in the 2004 general election.

But that is ok. What matters to Dean supporters is not the ability to win 2004. Not to clobber Bush in an electoral landside. What matters to them is that Dean get the nomination and get 65% of the popular vote in 19 states and DC and 30% of the vote in other 31 states. Then they will whine again about how could Dean get 54% of the vote and still lose. Well I will spell it out for you. If is NOT about the POPULAR VOTE. Get that out of your head. It is about the candidate that wins Florida and one more southern state. I don't care if the Democratic Nominee wins 51% of the vote in 21 states and gets 10% in others that will win. I don't care if a candidate can get 90% of the vote in 19 states and dc, and 40% in the other, that will not win the White House.
There is only a few tickets that can win the 19 Democratic States and DC, Florida, and one more Southern state. Clark/Graham, Kerry/Graham, Clark/Richardson,Kerry/Richarson, Gephardt/Graham Gephardt/Richardson and Clark/Gephardt. That is the only hope we have. Clark/Graham or Clark/Richardson are the strongest chances.
Question? Would you rather have Dean get 54% of the vote and get 266 electoral votes, just missing the needed 270. Or would you rather have Clark or Kerry, or Gephardt run and get 281 electoral votes with only 50.1% of the Popular vote. I would rather have BUSH outta there then be able to keep Bush in office with him knowing that he twice lost the Popular vote and still won, because he doesn't give a crap.
Stop thinking POPULAR VOTE. Start thinking Electoral vote.
