CA Sen: (Assemblyman Tony) Strickland May Run Against Boxer
SACRAMENTO — Assemblyman Tony Strickland (search), the No. 2 Republican in the California Assembly, said Friday that he has formed an exploratory committee to consider a campaign against U.S. Sen. Barbara Boxer (search), D-Calif.

<snip>

He contended Strickland's record on abortion rights (search), gun control and environmental protection would make him "one of the most far-right candidates to ever run for statewide office in California."

"His record is clearly far to the right of other extremist candidates that Californians have repeatedly rejected," Behr said.

<snip>

Former U.S. Treasurer Rosario Marin (search) of Huntington Beach has also formed a Senate exploratory committee, the first step toward formal entry into the campaign. Former Los Altos Hills Mayor Toni Casey is the only announced candidate for the GOP nomination against Boxer, who will be seeking a third term next year.

4. Boxer won by 800,000 votes in 1998
I don't see her losing in 2004 unless she finds herself in a major scandal. But she will have to work to win re-election.

5. She won't have to work very hard
against Tony Strickland.
The Far Reich Wing in California is sooo frustrated; they keep on nominating and keep on losing.
