ATTN: KERRY SUPPORTERS IN D.C. AREA
Celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the March on Washington

"We need to guarantee equal rights and civil rights and say that, here in America, workers have the right to organize -- women have the right to choose - and justice belongs to everyone regardless of race or gender or sexual orientation.” - John Kerry

Join John Kerry for President supporters on the National Mall this Saturday to celebrate the 40th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

Begin meeting at 10 AM at Northwest Corner of the Reflecting Pool.
Signs, stickers, and other materials will be provided. Please remember to bring sunscreen and water!

Join us to reflect on the past 40 years of the civil rights movement and work towards a better future for this country. This is a wonderful opportunity to meet fellow Kerry supporters and remember that "justice belongs to everyone regardless of race...."

For more information please contact clennox@johnkerry.com, or on the day of event contact Ruthie Mahnken - cell: 301-512-3081.

Thanks and see you there-
The Kerry Team

2. Hmmmm...
Guess they're all going to be here:

On August 28th, 1963, our world was changed completely when more than 250,000 Americans marched on Washington in support of civil rights. The Civil Rights Movement transformed America -- and showed the great power of individuals who believed they can make a difference.

An enormous rally is planned to commemorate the event on Saturday, August 23rd. At 10:45 am, D.C.-area Dean supporters are meeting at the Washington Monument to join thousands of other Americans in remembering and celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the March on Washington.

Governor Dean will be stopping by the Commemorative Rally around 3:30 PM on Saturday.

4. Nah...Kerry has over 40 years of civil rights activism...
and doesn't have to make a show of it when he is running for president. I'm sure he's marked the day in another way that is appropriate.

I still wonder why Dean declined to be active in either the civil rights movement OR the antiwar movement when he was in college. He said that his room mate was a civil rights activist but he never mentions why he didn't join him.

3. Kerry and EVERYBODY who's big on Civil Rights!
Kerry's camp has a great idea to commemorate one of the turning points of American history. All progressives and liberals and DEMOCRATS should be there in spirit, if not physically. It IS a good time to use those frequent flyer miles...

(And a kick in the pants to the reactionaries everywhere.)
