Will Wisconsin go Republican? |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-04-03 10:32 AM by poskonig
I was talking to a Republican this morning, and they were very optimistic about the GOP chances in WI. They argued that Milwaukee has a Republican county executive, and may have a black Republican mayor at the end of the next elections. These two facts are supposed to sway black voters to Bush and give the GOP the edge in this closely contested battleground state.
Thoughts? Analysis?

1. That makes no difference at all |

I'm also pretty sure recent polls showed Bush's approval ratings under 50 percent there. I don't think he's going to win Wisconsin.

2. Didn't WI have a republican governor in 2000? |
|
It didn't help Bush then.
Plus, the state's manufacturing economy is probably hurt by Bush, though I don't know if this is true, and possibly the blame could be put on the unpopular dem governor.

recent polls show Bush under 50 percent, and Wisconsin just elected a Democratic governor. Additionally, Sen. Feingold will drive out the party base in 2004.
