Vince Whitacre's fundraising kickoff roundup!

Hi everybody!

To those of you who contributed to my fundraising drive, I'd like to extend my sincerest thanks. Between the online fundraiser here at DU and the offline fundraiser at Bethesda Park, we have collected $1,150 in cash-on-hand and $530 in further pledges, for a total of $1,680.

This money will go a long way toward replacing Jim Sensenbrenner with a progressive Democrat (me), but we still need more.

So, even though this kickoff is over, I urge you to consider contributing -- either again, or for the first time. We expect to raise $100,000 by January 1 from individual contributers. This is the only way to bring political power (money) back to the PEOPLE, and remove it from the corporate interests and the politicians they hold in their pockets.

Many of you have sent me PMs and e-mails with words of encouragement, or posted same to earlier threads.

It's a tough thing, the whole campaigning universe, and the moral support of DUers has really helped me keep from going crazy.

Even if you can't (or just don't wish to) contribute, your moral support means the world to Vince and me.
