i dont know the situation right now but they have had a dem as a senator in the recent past (bob Kerrey). i believe he was also gov at one point

They just elected a Democratic governor. The last Democratic senator from Oklahoma was Sen. David Boren, who retired in 1994. Rep. Brad Carson is noted as a tough political campaigner. Carson received 74 percent of the vote in 2002 (in a district that went 52.8 percent for Bush in 2000). He is a moderate and has crossover appeal, and Henry's recent victory proves that a Democrat can win here.
