Senate Dem says he'll vote for Bush.
http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/10/30/elec04.prez.miller.bush/index.html
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Democratic Sen. Zell Miller of Georgia said Wednesday he will endorse President Bush in the coming presidential election.

"This does not mean I am going to become a Republican," Miller said in a written statement. "It simply means that in the year 2004, this Democrat will vote for George Bush."

Miller first declared his intention in an online interview with The Weekly Standard, saying Bush is "the right man at the right time."
>
Miller says the Democratic presidential candidates are too far to the political left and too beholden to special interests.

..........What a fucktard!

3. Dashle should tell Zell he can't caucus with Dems anymore
I hate that guy. Can't we find someone to run against him who is a Dem. And people wonder why Dems couldn't hold together in the face of Bush's tax cuts. Guys like him are the reason. Jesus!

6. Isn't time to strip him of the Party Membership?
All I can figure is that Miller must be damaged goods....they have to have something on this guy...big time.

I really don't understand why he isn't kicked out of the Party. SO we can run some who is a Democrat from his district in the next election.

How he can endorse Bush is beyond my ken. Bush is neither Republican or Democratic...he is a member of the Criminal War-Profiteering Party.

A devious whore to call himself a Democrat when in reality he's pushing Republican views.

11. This is also a further indictment
of the so-called Democratic Party leadership.

Why let this guy continue to serve as a Democrat? Do we not stand for anything? Let's eat the lost seat in the Senate and allow this ignorant and morally corrupt "public servant" to go over the wall and join the GOP. Hell, the Democrats lost southern states like Georgia a long time ago already. We ain't gettin' it back anytime soon.

If Daschle and company had ANY testicles, they'd publicly kick this guy out of the party and say very loudly and strongly that he's violated the principles on which the party stands.

12. Why does Miller remain in the Party?
Is he just lazy or a Republican plant? I have wondered this for a while as he has consistently voted against the Dems on every issue.

And now hes endorsing Bush?

What is he doing in the party?

He shouldnt have been trusted within any substantial ranks because he is not a Democrat. Democrats have this thing of voting a certain way and he has always headed in the opposite direction. He has never done one thing to further the Democratic cause that I have ever heard or observed.

20. Ummm... No.
He could have switched two years ago and handed power to the pukes - who would have given him a lot more than "seniority" to get the Senate back.

He could switch today and get any committee seat(s) he wanted since a 52-47 split would involve dropping one additional "D" seat from each committee and adding one "R". So there would be open seats on every single committee and he could have his pick. And he would be screwing several other Democrats out of an existing seat at the same time.

Plus, he's going to retire next year. Seniority is irrelevant to him.

I suspect he was telling the truth when he said he would never switch parties. I suspect he also believes that "the party has left him" and shrub is closer to his beliefs than where our current nominees are taking us.

26. "The party left him"
Well, I hope I don't get kicked off the board for saying this... but if Zell Miller believes the party has left him, that's his prerogative, and he can vote for Bush if he wants. Honestly, don't we criticize Republicans for being lockstep Bush supporters? You can't say that and turn around and expect Democrats to be 100% in opposition. I don't agree with him, but voting for one Republican president doesn't mean he can't be a Democrat.

21. Don't be silly. Why waste your time?
1) You would just end up with the Republican candidate for 2004 being named to that seat by the Republican Governor.

2) Unlike California, Georgia recall law requires certain types of action to recall ("act of malfeasance or misconduct while in office; violation of oath of office; failure to perform duties prescribed by law; willfully misused, converted, or misappropriated, without authority, public property or public funds").

3) He's the most popular politician in the state. Max Cleland tried desperately to associate himself with being a "Zell Miller" Democrat while the opposition tried to say he wasn't.

This isn't like Davis. YOU may be pissed off, but not enough people in GA will be. Hard core republicans were pissed off at Jeffords too.... but the majority of voters in VT didn't mind the change.

who campaigned ardently for Clinton and almost lost his re-election bid because he increased hunting license fees? Incredible.
