Republicans eat their own, create a new Democrat (thanks, idiots!)
Edited on Sat Nov-01-03 02:23 PM by Bucky
Well, maybe just a new Clarkie. A guy who was an aide to Clark in the army and is now a GOP congressional staffer got fired for walking over to shake Clark's hand. There's a lesson in here about how conservative Republicans demonstrate the second law of thermodynamics.

(from the current Washington Monthly Whos Who column.

"Eric Massa, until recently on the majority staff of the House Armed Services Committee... walked over to say hello. But as the former comrades-in-arms greeted each other warmly on the street just outside the event--Massa never went inside, say other attendees--Republican operatives stationed nearby noticed his presence, and reported back to his staff director, Robert Rangel. Soon after, sources tell "Who's Who," Hunter and Rangel repeatedly told Massa that, given his friendship with Clark, he could no longer work at the committee, but when reporters from a few big-name newspapers heard the story and began calling around, Hunter claimed that Massa had never actually been fired. Fed-up, Massa resigned. No one from Hunter's office was available for comment. Contacted by WW, Massa commented, "I don't hold ill will for anybody. This is about issues, and Clark the man, and I'm going to do everything I can to get him elected."

Ha! What assholes!

1. Isn't it refreshing to see someone come over to our side for a change
instead of leaving to go to the dark side?

4. Their petty vindictiveness knows no bounds
As Smiley said of his arch-nemesis Karla, "He is a fanatic, and one day that lack of moderation will be his downfall, if I have anything to do with it."

Can't remember whether that was from "Smiley's People" or "Tinker, Tailor"....
