Don't like your Representative?
Find out who is donating to their campaign and
put pressure on them...ask them if they like what's
going on in the country.

2. I used to like both of my representatives
my House representatives were Rep. Neil Ambercrombie and Rep. Patsy Mink. However, tear, Patsy Mink died last year. It was really sad. She was a veteran in the House and she fought for Title V -- the gender equity in sports law.

The other one is Neil Ambercrombie. He's really good. I like him. However, he's very pro-military and they have taken enough land here already. Other than that, he's a true blue liberal.

Now, there is Ed Case. He is actually the cousin of Steve Case, the founder of AOL. He's also a Democrat. In fact, the entire delegation from Hawaii are Democrats.

All of them voted against the war too.

However, Mr. Case likes Liberman. But I think he's a little more liberal than him, probably more on Kerry's line.

3. Mine is Tim Johnson (Neanderthal, IL-15)
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 07:46 PM by Padraig18
His popularity is declining, as the war casualties mount and farm prices remain depressed. We have nominated an able young physician (eerie, huh? ) to oppose him who is drawing larger crwods with each passing day.

9. Ha!
Sessions was my rep until last year. Now I have Jeb Hensarling, who ran on a record of "vote for me, I'm buds with Phil Gramm"

Ugh.

7. I'm stuck with Greg Walden (R-OR) as representative
Edited on Sun Nov-02-03 07:59 PM by Military Brat
Every time I write him to voice an opinion on something he's voted for or against, I get a letter which can basically be summarized as blah-blah-blah. When I wrote about Treasongate, he wrote to inform me that "things may be more complex than they first appear." He's total echo-speak and out of touch.

Then there's Gordon Smith, Mr. Rich White Boy, Republicannibal Senator. He's a bushie.

The jewel in Oregon's crown is Ron Wyden. Remember the gentleman who said the terror betting parlor was grotesque? That's Ron Wyden. Straight up and down the line, he's for the people and by the people. He makes me proud to live in Oregon, and one day I hope to see him in the White House, at least as the Vice President. Wes Clark supporters, if you're reading this, please let General Clark know that there's a great man in Oregon who would be an ideal running mate.

Edited: Senator Ron Wyden is -- you guessed it -- a Democrat.

BTW, do you want to look up your personal politician's voting record? Go to http://www.vote-smart.org Everything you want to know about what they've voted for, their platform, biography, etc.

12. Greg Walden (R-OR) days hopefully are numbered
We need to get him out of office this time around.
I think that Ron Wyden would rock as VP...but I think he would prefer to stay in Oregon.

8. I'm hoping some Democrat will campaign against my rep
Where I live, the Democrats too often give up and don't put up any campaign - even though they could win if they did.

11. Lois Capps (D-CA 23)
Nice lady. A moderate, but with a good soul. She voted against Iraq and also abstained from 87 Billion, saying she wanted to support the troops but knew that the bill was wrong. I campaigned for her before and will do again, she's a stand up lady and makes friends on all sides of the political spectrum.

16. Robin Hayes (R, NC-8)
Edited on Mon Nov-03-03 03:08 PM by leyton
NC is pretty much Republican country, but on the other hand, last year's candidate put up a good fight and a major, major, major employer in the district just shut down and the jobs went overseas.

We also have the illustrious Sue Myrick (NC-9), a second- or third-tier member of the House Republican leadership. I think her official title is 'deputy rubber stamp.'

Edit: opensecrets.org has contributor lists. They come in handy.
