ATTN DC Area Gore Die Hards: MAJOR Speech Nov. 9th at the DAR Constitution
A message from Draft Gore:

------------------------------

GORE TO GIVE MAJOR SPEECH IN WASHINGTON DC ON NOVEMBER 9

On Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 pm, Al Gore will give his a major speech on the administration's response to terrorism. The event will be held at the DAR Constitution Hall in Washington, D.C. Gore is expected to discuss the Bush administration's assault on civil liberties and the Constitution. Again, this is a golden opportunity to see Gore and urge him to run -- and to show the national media there that we're here fighting for Al Gore. We don't know yet if tickets will be available to the public, but we're trying to find out. Let us know if you can attend or help out.

1. Gore has repeatedly said he's not going to run
No draft movement has ever worked. Is there any legitimate reason to believe he might change his mind?

2. Drafts have worked. What about Eisenhower? or even Goldwater?
Excerpts from the Eisenhower Institute website:

"Draft Eisenhower movements had sprung up in both parties in 1948 and again during 1951. Eisenhower had done his best to ignore them. In late December President Truman wrote to ask General Eisenhower, "I wish you would let me know what you intend to do," and General Eisenhower replied, "I do not feel that I have any duty to seek a political nomination."

Before too long, however, General Eisenhower reconciled his commitment not to seek a political office by taking the position that he would be personally compelled to respond if called to a higher duty. On January 6, 1952, Lodge forced the issue by entering Eisenhower in the New Hampshire Republican primary without Eisenhower's authorization ... General Eisenhower won all the Republican delegates and soundly defeated Senator Taft (who had campaigned intensively in the state) by a vote of 50% to 38%.

3. He should change his mind if he'd have the best chance of beating Bush. nt

4. I wouldn't vote for Gore even if he did run. He quit
when Democrats needed his leadership most. If he would have put his hat in the ring months ago he'd probably be appointed President instead of needing an election. Go Dean! Go Clark! Better yet, Go Dean/Clark!!

5. That's fair. Many dems feel that way.Just not me.I think he was pushed
into not running by party elements who don't want to resurrect the ghost of 2000.

When he bowed out in Dec. 2002 he said that he personally had the will to run.

6. The media ravaged Al Gore. And I didn't need Al Frankens book to tell me.
Considering the outrageous lies told against him in the election and the fact that he won the majority vote and event he recount! I was shocked he decided to not run. I can only guess, and I think I'm right it was because of the way he knew the media would treat him. The Republicans broke him or his wife. I'd rather have the firebrand Dean and or the Rhodes scholar Clark, again I'd rather have them both. I don't think the Republicans can beat them.
