Kerry did it again
Every time I think the man is on to something, he manages to throw me off within a week's time.

I was watching one of his New Hampshire house parties last night, and Mr. Kerry shows up wearing a bomber jacket, with patches and everything.
Whatever Kerry Campaign member came up with that idea should be fired on the spot.

A pilot jacket....that's just sooo...George Bush.

2. Oh, that's a good way to decide on a
candidate, whether they wear a bomber jacket or not.

The guy earned his right to wear anything resembling Military... For you to say it's "So George Bush" is a cheap shot... Dubya's a little yellow awol coward...Kerry's a decorated war vet!

He's pandering
His service speaks for itself without him always trying to remind people 20 times a speech. He wears the jacket to promote an image. That's pandering.

And the sad part is he doesn't need to.

9. Pandering?
I actually would like to see a picture and details about the event before making that declaration. I sincerely doubt he was 'pandering' in New Hampshire. If he was at an Air Force base, then yeah, maybe that charge could stick slightly, but even then, all it would take is someone to show where he has worn that jacket once before and it would be wiped away.

This is such a non-issue.

I hope no one would base a decision on this kind of thing.

11. yes, there are a lot of people here now that came from other
boards and have no Democratic interests at all....

just look at the shameless attacks on the returning DC anti-war protesters....some of those attackers, though, had high post counts...they all got on this board after the January 18,2003 anti-war protests, and have racked up high counts....they manipulate, twist and turn the board toward 'cheap labor conservative' and reTHUGlican values...it's subtle....a little poll here, a little allegation there, a little rumor here, a little lie there....it's the bush* kkkarl rove approach....

7. Many of my friends (non-military) wear bomber jackets
Patches and all.

Style of dress shouldn't dictate anything. If he showed up at an airforce base trying to look like a veteran pilot, then you'd have something because that would imply he was trying to mislead people.

There is no attempt to mislead people in this case.

16. There are a number of things I might be tempted to criticize Kerry for...
...this isn't one of them. By my count, there's at least one other actual military vet, and one pretend one, using their military background (or made up background in the case of Dubya) as part of their resume. And if one were applying for a job, they'd include their military service on their application. Non-issue.

24. It was Kerry's call to play 'dress-up' regardless of who made the
suggestion. It's just indicative of a rudderless campaign where no one is in charge. I swear this campaign is so amateurish even for someone running for the high school student council.
