2. On a side note...
can someone justify the cleveland disaster that happened while he was mayor?

I can't convince my friend that kucinich is a great guy.

3. On that thing in Cleveland
He in fact saved the city a whole lot of money and the city council gave him a commendition for it.

5. Members of the board of the bank...
which held the loan that MUNY light, the municipal (city-owned) power company, was operating under, were also on the board of CEI power (?), which wanted to buy the power company.

A good liberal, Kucinich knew that allowing the banks to sell the power company to private interests would be bad business for the people of Cleveland. The citizens there preferred 2 to 1 that the power company not be privatized (they knew better than the de-regulating theives!)

So, Kucinich refused to sell the power company. It was best for the citizens of Cleveland, it is what they wanted, and it is the right policy nationally (keeping public interests away from greedy private hands). Unfortunately, the bank refused to roll-over the loan (standard practice, the refusal was nearly unprecedented), so the city went into default.

Then when the banking interests and their rich friends put their friends to work on ousting Kucinich, and with the city in default, he was impeached, but defeated the attempt, and later lost his re-election bid.

Keep in mind he was the youngest mayor at this time. I think he did an outstanding job.

Most politicians will sell out their constituents in a heartbeat if it's their career that's threatened. Kucinich did it, and he was awarded later by the city council for saving the city $200 Million dollars by making his principled decision, and by the voters of Cleveland, who elected him to the state legislature, then federal.

He's been up on Capitol Hill for six years now, fighting the good fight against the nearly unbeatable corrupting forces of money and power.

I would put up some links but I'd have to find them first. :)

6. Yes
Here: http://www.kucinich.us/peoplepower.php

See, Kucinich stood up for the people on principle, regardless of it being a terrible career move, and saved Clevelan $195 million by refusing to sell Muny Light. Click on the above link for details, such as why the bank defaulted the City on it's loans in retaliation for his refusing to sell Muny Light to it's biggest customer.

11. Wow! Great news for DK!!
I knew his support was much bigger than being stated. He isn't going away any time soon either as his campaign raised more than their goal for the month of October!

Keep telling the truth Dennis J. Kucinich, or should I say, PRESIDENT Kucinich!!! :D

DENNIS J. KUCINICH FOR PRESIDENT IN 2004!!!

12. A positive sign for Kucinich
The local NPR member, KUOW in Seattle, today announced in their morning news that DK would be campaigning in Washington later this week.

Must have been from the callers compaining about the media marginalizing certain candidates, but quite nice that they have taken heed, whatever the reason.

14. No I'm not sure
when it was started, I think it's ongoing. It looks like they poll people on their views on the issues and they tell you who most likely represents your views.

The Univision poll is a poll conducted by Univision, the largest Latino-oriented channel in the country. It was recently purchased by Clear Channel I think, though, so don't expect this sort of open support for DK to be continuous with that company. But that is great, that viewers of DK liked him the best, even though Dean gave them part of his speech in Spanish at that debate.

20. FluxRostrum, I love your sig!
Thanks for posting that version of the graphic representation of the marginalization of Kucinich.

I love how ticked he looks in that pic. What a great visualization of what's happening with his campaign.

Just means there's plenty of work for us to do! :)
