NOTE:

HOW TO READ THIS CHART: This chart lists the top donors to this candidate during the 2004 election cycle. The organizations themselves did not donate, rather the money came from the organization's PAC, its individual members or employees or owners, and those individuals' immediate families. Organization totals include subsidiaries and affiliates.

Because of contribution limits, organizations that bundle together many individual contributions are often among the top donors to presidential candidates. These contributions can come from the organization's members or employees (and their families). The organization may support one candidate, or hedge its bets by supporting multiple candidates. Groups with national networks of donors - like EMILY's List and Club for Growth - make for particularly big bundlers.

1. These are always interesting to look at...
Is Borders & Borders the book people or someone else?

University of Illinois employees...well, it's a liberal bastion of downstate here.

Does anyone know what Guana Island or the Wooden Horse are?

2. I'm more interested in Camelot
If King Arthur has endorsed Kucinich, I would really have to reconsider everything and back him 100%.

3. Way too many Camelot's to know...
Unless you're the supporter who collected the money.

There's a Camelot hotel chain, a theme park, the music people...on and on.

4. University of Illinois???????
If true, why are my tuition and tax dollars going to any political candidate? That must be a mistake.

Clarification, please?

7. These are the EMPLOYERS of individual donors.

These aren't just PAC donations.

Universities may have PACs. But this isn't just PACs (read the note at the bottom).

I think the university numbers include students who list their affiliation as being the University. However, most students probably just list "unemployed" or "student" wehn they donate.

DK has seen fit to accuse Howard Dean of taking money from people with "ties" to utilities or corporate interests, insinuating something nefarious, when the fact is that they just happen to work for an entity.

The fact that an individual contributes does not indicate ties to anything, everyone has the right to contribute up to the limits.

Did you know Kucinich accepts PAC money?

Sounds scary huh?

(Until you do a bit of research and find that they are union PACs....then it's not so bad.) :-)
