4. It's not a blog, it's a forum.
Kerry site already has a blog that has been going for quite some time. This is a new way of community building, much like this DU forum.

10. You might like to take a look at DeanLink
www.deanlink.com

It's an integrated system where you can search for people in your area (enter your zip code and it pops up those near you geographically - with how many miles away they are and how involved in the campaign they want to be) and send messages directly to them or anyone else on the system. It also allows you to search for campaign events in your area by entering your zip.

Got one of those?

Communication is one of the best aspects of the Dean campaign!

13. New way of community building?
An old way of community building. I'm waiting to see which campaign puts up the first jabber server.

If the Kerry campaign feels forums are necessary good for them. Kucinich has had forums for awhile. They are time consuming to maintain but do allow a greater sense of bonding.

21. hmmm
I use mozzilla as a browser I think I tried using a jabber pluggin with it with horrible results.

You have a link to a working jabber pluggin by any chance? I am currently using trillian as an alternative but would love to move over to an open source alternative.

8. Come on lay off your negativity.
If I have a car, can you have a car. Do you go to your neighbors houses and tell them their new car is stupid because you got one last month? Keep your negativity to your self and try to be happy that your fellow democrats are looking for better ways to organize.

18. You said you had a blog for a while I was just pointing out that it was
not a blog. Search for your negativity somewhere else. There is none here. I personally applaud any effort to bring dems together.

25. Dean will be launching forums in the near future
the web team is working on lots of projects and that's one of them.

in the meantime, there are plenty of unofficial Dean discussion forums which are linked on the main blog page.

I have recently found myself with more free time, and I'd like to use some of it to help Kerry up in New Hampshire.

6. This is great
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 11:42 AM by quinnox
I often feel DU seems to be another Dean blog, because of the overwhelming number of Dean supporters who are very vocal. It will be nice to have a place to talk with Kerry supporters exclusively, without all the Deanies telling us how great Dean is all the time.

I only ask that the Dean people don't crash this forum. Please respect this new Kerry forum, if at all possible. I noticed the Kerry blog had some Deanies that would constantly spam and be rude asses, and it made me not want to participate there.

7. I *hope* that Deanistas
don't crash the party at Kerry's place. They have no right to be there.

Fortunately, they can block their IP addresses as well (I think)

19. So having to borrow your attack terminology from the other party?
I was happy to be a Clintonista myself.

It was a Repub term to attempt to discredit Democrats based in liberal support for the Sandinista revolt in Nicaragua.

You wouldn't want us to support liberal causes?

26. Trust me...you don't have to look hard...
Countless posts yesterday and this morning of the exact same thing "Dean lied" the exact same complaint over and over and over - there were at least dozens of them, and not a single Kerry supporter to call off the person posting.

I posted a long thread this morning and as a very important part of it to me was that Dean supporters end the personal attacks on other candidates and other candidate supporters. It is unworthy of our campaign.

Is it unworthy of John Kerry's campaign?

I will enjoy reading what like-minded people have to say. Heh, it is nice to have not everything looked at through Dean-colored glasses, like so often at DU. I can't say objectivity seems to be some of the Deanies strong points.

Yep, with the vile statements about Dean that come from this candidate's supporters....I'm expected to believe this is a completely neutral remark.

Just as Deanista (with the "ista" borrowed from Repubs) is supposed to be neutral as well.

The negativity is here in spades...knee deep!

35. Why not move this to a separate thread...
We don't need to turn the Kerry campaign's own thread into a bash Kerry thread.

My anger above was responding to burying Dean attacks in promotion of the Kerry candidacy.

I think that issue in your link on the campaign financing deserves discussion, but I'm not sure this thread is the most appropriate place.
