Want to see General Wes Clark in person? Zipcode Drive |
|
Edited on Fri Nov-07-03 06:44 PM by RandomUser
General Wes Clark is holding a Zip Code Drive.
You can donate however much you want, but if you donate at least $10, you and your zip code will be entered into the contest. Whichever zipcode has the most donors (not whichever raises the most money) will win a personal visit from the General.
He's emphasizing the people, rewarding whichever zipcode has the most donors, instead of catering to the richest by rewarding whichever zipcode raises the most money. And since zipcodes are small areas, it doesn't take many donors to get your zipcode to the top. Grab a few neighbors!
And if you're curious about the General but haven't made up your mind about supporting him fullheartedly yet, this is your chance to see him up close and decide.
Clark is not just doing big expensive fundraisers like the Eagles Concert, but rewarding the low dollar donors with the Zip Code Drive and a personal visit. You get to decide who the Zip Code Drive winner is, and he'll go out to meet you and your neighbors whether you're in a big city or a small remote rural area.
Even if you support another candidate, this is your chance to see Wes Clark in person.
Edited to add: Contest runs from Nov. 3rd to Nov. 24th.

No you don't have to be the highest donor zipcode to see him. You can see him at any of the events and speeches and places he visits.
This is just something extra, a contest to reward those who live far away from the places he visits or the primary states or states that might not otherwise get visits from presidential candidates. And he's rewarding people who don't donate a lot of money.
Get it?

3. That's a pretty good strategy! |

Seriously, he's reaching out to the little guy with this one, and making sure they know he hasn't forgotten them.
I really do like Clark. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if he came up with this one on his own or demanded the staff find a way to reach the common people he's less likely to meet.
I know that was one of the things people liked about him at Ft. Hood, he made himself accessible to the regular soldiers. A lot of COs aren't like that, and you have to go up the entire chain just to make a simple suggestion. Clark was willing to listen without all the snobbery some commanders display.
