1. Oh come on now...
What if I choose to back a candidate who takes campaign contribs from execs at one of the biggest media conglomerates in the world?

That won't have ANY influence on my views on media consolidation, will it? :o

3. Thanks for posting this.
I quit watching US news channels almost 3 years ago. I haven't missed it. I read some US news in the paper, but also contrast it with indymedia and international media.

I personally followed CNN International and other international news all last year as we prepared and then invaded Iraq, and was shocked at the disparity between what the world saw and what the US saw.

I think it's one huge factor in why my perspective on our international activities are so obviously different from everyone around me. They are glued to US TV news, and that's all the news they get.

What difference do you think we would see in the political climate here in the US if we got the whole picture?

4. If the US could see the global picture today
I think Dennis Kucinich would be president by the end of the week (sans ceremony). The level of ignorance in this country is reaching disgusting levels, particularly because it's killing people.

I havent had cable or anything but VCR for over three years. I don't even have a TV now. I won't even listen to NPR anymore, since journalists working for them were so obviously MANDATED FROM ABOVE to not cover the antiwar movement: it was so shocking to see that happen to NPR.

Anyway, I wish more people would follow the above link and see why the media is so evil.

5. Thank <whatever/whoever you thank> for the internet.
If I didn't have (and use) a connection to news and info outside the mainstream sources, would I be just as much a sheep?

I think if people got to listen to Dennis talk...I don't mean in 10 second soundbites at debates where the whole point is to take sides on issues against the other participants; I mean just talk about issues...he would take every state.

That's the message I get over and over from anyone who has heard him speak in person, or who has spoken to/with him, or who has caught his videos or heard him on the radio.

The most recent chance I got to hear him speak at any length was the peace day house party in so cal in September. I can tell you that the love and support in that crowd was palpable. That the issues discussed were all issues to bring hope, healing, peace, and justice to america and the world. And that I sat there with tears streaming down my face the whole time. At that point, I was so discouraged by the marginalizing, ignoring, the invisibility going on in the media, I wondered why we were even bothering. Until I listened, and he reminded me.

6. I agree, it's hearing him speak that does it
It's because people naturally empathize with him, and feel the same way as he does. He gives voice to the not-yet broken spirit of this nation.

As Kucinich supporters, we also need to promote the independent sites that support Dennis Kucinich, like the invaluable:

http://www.kucinichwatch.com

They have so many speeches in audio and lots of videos at different events, mostly have been bootlegged at the events, but the quality is good enough. I'm going to try to start and effort to distribute some of these videos and speeches on local networks, such as the library and on college campus's.

7. I was hoping for a video from september's house party.
The studio city party. A man was taping; he sells his DK videos for a few dollars each, and I have a few already. I wanted to share the house party; it was such a positive message, a positive night, with positive people. My name is on a list, but I haven't heard from him.

Meanwhile, we need a media blitz. Too many voters only tune in to the mainstream stuff. We need to get on.

I've tried writing letters to the editor of newspapers...dozens of them, not one has been printed. I've made some phone calls to call in radio. What else can we do? Take out ads in newspapers?
