Poll question: If your candidate doesn't get the nomination, do you: |
|
Edited on Sun Nov-09-03 02:52 PM by Padraig18
I'm curious to gauge what the depth of both support for and alienation from the various candidates is. Please comment, if you like, but try to refrain from 'flaming'.
Thanks! :hi:
Edit: spelling.

I will do whatever it takes to unseat *. As much as I dislike Lieberman, he is light-years better than *, as are any of our 9 candidates. :hi:

And I'll just leave it at that to avoid any flame-fests.

This is not about liberals vs. centrists, etc.; this election is about reclaiming our sovereign right to be a self-governing people.

9. I'll work my fingers to the nub |
|
for whoever gets the nomination.
I'll work side-by-side with those who called my 'tire slasher' and 'as bad as an anti-abortionist' just to see Bush removed from office.
It's a clean slate after the nomination, for me. All sins are forgiven and our candidate will get my full ability and energy.

information, flyering...anything to get the candidate's name out there. It's more important to get rid of Bush than to see my personal favorite get the nomination. :)
On a side note: it is very sad to see so many people willing to not vote, move etc...if their candidate doesn't get the nomination. We are just playing into Bush's divide and conquer ideology then.

For seven of the candidates I will do everything in my power to get them elected. For the other two I'm sure I'll vote for them, but nothing else. Regardless of the nominee, I'll help with state and local candidates.

15. I'd probably leave the party at some point unless: |
|
Dean get's it instead of Kucinich. Then I'll vote for him versus Bush (if I think my vote is needed, as I predict a landslide for anyone vs. Bush), then it's probably to a third party for a while. See I think that Dean actually believes that he is the guy to clean up Washington, but only behind his personal ambition to become president: ego first, people second I guess. It would certainly be better than the current situation. But Kucinich is public servitude incarnate, I believe it's in his soul to be that way because of his life experience. If anyone else wins (besides Moseley-Braun and Sharpton), the establishment wins, and democracy is dead.

It'd be great to think I'm smart enough to say I'd work like hell whoever the nominee is...
The only thing about saying ABB is it seems to lower the bar or expectations.
Let's expect alot from our candidates so we don't have to work towards electing just "anyone" :)
After reading Gore's speech today and some other DU'ers posts... I'm feeling a bit more enthusiastic overall.
Thanks to DU'ers for being so darned smart and energetic!

18. What's really scary to me: |
|
4% (as of right now) say that they'll write-in their candidate's name or not vote at all, and that 4% could be the difference between a Bush victory or defeat. Scary.
