Kucinich fundraising drive
Edited on Tue Nov-11-03 02:37 PM by redqueen
Kucinich's campaign is growing. People like to cite polls and say that we who support Kucinich are a bunch of naive dreamers, but we know better, don't we?

We remember how jaded and cynical we were before finding out about Kucinich's campaign.

We remember how learning there was a candidate who didn't just talk about principles and integrity, but acted on them, affected us personally.

We remember how exciting it was to discover that this candidate wasn't from a truly unelectable third-party, but a DEMOCRAT.

More and more people all over the country are waking up to this every day. More and more people are finding out that there is a candidate who can shake us out of our dreary, half-defeated, 'let's appeal to those we don't agree with so we can win' thinking.

This is being done without much, if any, help. Neither from the mass media, nor from our Democratic 'leadership'.

Come on, Kucitizens. Let's all put in the extra effort this month and exceed the goal by even more this time.

Give as generously as you can, and implore those you know who believe in the same ideals you do to do the same.

1. I'm definitely donating (more), and I'm unemployed!
Kucinich raised a lot of money last month, more than enough for his grassroot efforts and related material, and more than enough to get around. His chances of winning this election are increasing every day, every time a new person hears him speak. So please help us get his voice out.

2. I'll try
I've already donated $100, and I'm unemployed as well. I'm hoping to get another $50 out to him soon, since I do believe in his message. I can't wait to see some payoff for all the effort folks are putting into his campaign.

3. That's about where I'm at in donations too...being unemployed
I've given $150 since late August, and have bought about $50 in materials too. Once I get a job, I'll donate big time and throw a fundraising party. But I have to be careful with what dough I have now, as I'm sure you know what I mean.

4. Both of you should be proud
you're putting your (scarce) money where your mouth is.

My challenge to you would be to convince your friends / neighbors / family to do the same! :)

7. My problem is....
I have no friends here! I'm new to town. And also I've already convinced everyone I know to support him except my brother, who is a staunch libertarian because of his likeness a certain small leafy plant. I try to tell him about DK, but he can't think straight, also because of a small leafy plant. I even try to sway him with the Willy Nelson endorsement: no luck. Maybe he just wants to be different from me.

11. Not a lot of money in my family
I'm one of the "rich" ones (and I'm currently unemployed), except for my little brother, the repug.

I tend to avoid talking politics with most of my family. Although most are democrats, I don't want to hate my own family. I don't give a shit if they hate me though, so there's always that. My neighbors are all democrats, except for the idiot next door who's a convicted felon.

I'm willing to get involved with campaigning locally, in a little city nearby, but I can't find any local support groups for DK (I live in a village of 500 people). Hopefully, with a little research, I can get involved with other volunteers somehow.

13. You both are helping already. :-)
Just by talking about him you are helping raise awareness of his candidacy and his stands on the issues that matter to Americans.

That sounds so nice... a village. Dallas bites! hehe, not kidding! It's an uphill fight here, but things are looking good... almost everyone I talk to reacts positively once they hear his stances.

Oh and MSAV, re: the herbal issue, does he know that DK has supported decriminalization of this less-harmful-than-alcohol substance? Just like DK to take the brave stand, eh? :D

Keep it up, guys...

5. Az has had a van donated....
Here in N AZ we've had a van donated by Kucinich supporters...now we need someone who has time & the inclination to drive it around N AZ (big area) and spread the word about Dennis.

I can probably manage for a day or maybe weekend but I am a self employed artist and if I don't keep working I can't pay the bills...( pretty much everyone's story seems like)

I sure wish I could donate more...and I will....

Also...billboards....have you gotten the email about billboards in Iowa?? We are looking into that here too....

There are lots of ways to get teh word out and to campaign without having to resort to big bucks and mass media...and the Kucinich campaign is finding & creating more all the time!

Peace
DR

:loveya: you guys who have donated your precious funds...its to a great cause,eh?!

6. college student here...
donated $107 since august and bought another $20 worth of stuff from the store...which is back online after a couple of weeks of being out of goods.

I wanna buy Dennis' book from the site but they are out.

I'll probably donate another $10-15 in November here. $700,000 in 3 weeks is going to be hellsa tough though.

8. I've sent all November will allow
to the Iowa billboard campaign. And I purchased 10 books to pass around. I thought I'd take the books to the striking picketers. Let them know I've supported them by driving to find other places to shop, let them know that Dennis showed up down south on the picket lines, and give away the books. Of course, the strikers probably don't have any $$ to give! But they are likely voters.

9. Bought 10 books
for folks in our campaign working group. They are going to pay me back but I will turn around and send that money back to the campaign, as well.

Big thanx to those who have given even if their funds are scarce.

We can all pull this off. If everyone who supported Dennis just gave a dollar, five dollars, ten dollars....we're there!! :)

14. Is the tally on his site, just online donations?
He picked up $60,000 in Santa Cruz the other day and that hasn't been added.

15. Hear about today, after the Talk of the Nation broadcast?
I just got an email from national that said they signed up another 101 volunteers since the broadcast-- it it was only 4.5 hours ago!

....and those are just the ones who volunteered-- there must be at least 10x as many who would support him in the primaries and caucuses!

IMO, he did well on TOTN. Very good questions, and Neil Conan wasn't overly patronizing like much of the media is to him. He got a chance to share his views and platform and did so in an easy-to-understand way, too.

GO DENNIS GO!!!!
