UAW region 4 (including Iowa) will offer an endorsement today
This little note from ABC's THE NOTE:
Keep an eye out at about today United Auto Workers Region 4 which (interestingly enough) includes Iowa, will decide on an endorsement at 3:30 pm est.

No word in The Note on who is likely to receive this endorsement, but I would venture to say it will be either Gep or Dean.

1. Didn't Gep say he was getting a big endorsement soon?
Could this be it? Is this a "big" endorsement?

3. it would be a nice endorsement for him
the national UAW decided not to endorse anyone which was a bit of a blow, but local and regional unions are free to endorse.

6. It will be Gephardt.
He will get all the manufacturing type unions with a very few exceptions. He panders to them with tariffs and it seems to work.

7. It's an endorsement for Gephardt...
at least that's what his campaign manager said yesterday on Crossfire. Steve Murphy(I think that was his name) said that the Iowa UAW had just decided yesterday to endorse Gep.

8. Will Granholm endorse whomever the UAW endorses (ie Gep)?
Or is she leaning another direction?

Michigan will be crucial, as it was in 2000. It's worth paying attention to all the nuances there, including Granholm and the UAW's endorsement.

Also, I'd love to see someone pick Stabenow as their VP. Her biography reminds me of Edwards, but without the hugely successful professional career between college and going into politics.
