California GOP Want to Oust Boxer
California GOP Wants Sen. Boxer Out
Thu Nov 13, 8:57 AM ET

By BETH FOUHY, Associated Press Writer

SAN FRANCISCO - Emboldened by their ability to oust a Democratic governor, California Republicans have set their sights on the next big prize — the 2004 Senate race and the chance to unseat two-term liberal Sen. Barbara Boxer.

But while many Republicans would like nothing more than to topple Boxer, the magic formula of star power and GOP unity that recalled Gov. Gray Davis (news - web sites) and elected Arnold Schwarzenegger (news - web sites) has so far eluded Republicans in the Senate race. Just three little-known Republicans have announced their candidacy and top party strategists are hoping to persuade some bigger names.

1. HAHAHAHAHAHA
Oh my goodness, that is the funniest thing I have heard all day. If they think they can take down Boxer, they are in over their heads.

5. Expect a campaign of lies and a celebrity opponent
The Republicans are willing to do what it takes to unseat her. We have to be stronger than they are.

4. Boxer won by 800,000 votes in 1998
She will win re-election, although she will have to work hard for it.

6. lets hope there's no green challenger
Boxer is respected here but is widely considered to be too liberal for California. Republicans will feild either David Drier or Bill Jones, both would be the strongest candidates the Republicans could come up with. We need every vote we can get.

11. Well if the greens come in....
It will make it more interesting but a margin of what Boxer had last time around would make the Greens and other gain over 800000 supporters.

7. My repuke neighbor was spouting lies about Boxer
seems to think she is from a Congressional District. He was claiming on Halloween night that Boxer didn't want firefighters from her district fighting the San Diego fires. (huh?) I just told him that I'd heard a firefighter from nearby Novato, hundreds of miles north of SD, had died, and walked away.

Later, his daughter showed up to trick-or-treat, and made a grab for about 10 candy bars. Big ones. I made her put back nine, and said, "Don't be so grabby." Where are the manners?

This guy also lets his dogs shit in front of everyone's house. (Do all repukes do this? One of the most quotable quotes about Linda Tripp was in Time mag., about how all the neighbors got together and sent her a letter requesting that she clean up after her dog.)

What does this have to do with Boxer? Well, I use this guy as a barometer for the 'pukes in this neck of the woods. He's already starting his campaign of disinformation.

Anyway, back to the topic, the arrogance and ignorance of the 'pukes is astounding. But I don't think it will eclipse the love we have for Boxer in CA.

I have a feeling that the "magic formula of star power" isn't gonna fly in this case.

Boxer has been stellar on environmental health issues - she gets the fact that children are paying the price for corporate "freedom from regulations."

But watch for some washed up tv star like Kelsey Grammar to take her on to assure children's health is polluted to the corporate max!
