Poll question: Will Edwards drop out if he loses South Carolina?
Edited on Sun Nov-16-03 03:30 PM by Feanorcurufinwe
Edwards, a Seneca native who repeatedly has said he must win South Carolina, said he hasn't even considered the idea of dropping out if he doesn't win the first-in-the-South Feb. 3 primary. "I don't want to accept that idea," he said.

Edwards had been leading in surveys in South Carolina, but an Oct. 31 poll by American Research Group of Manchester, N.H., showed Clark with the support of 17 percent compared to Edwards' 10 percent.

Still, Edwards campaign officials have said their internal polling shows their candidate 10 points ahead in the state where he has spent about $600,000 on ads.

"I've seen lots of polls in South Carolina, you're looking at the leader in South Carolina," Edwards said.

OK, I think polls are bogus, but they are fun.

Everyone says SC is a must-win for Edwards - even Edwards. So what if he doesn't win - will he drop out?

1. Can't you do better than poll for guesses?
Polling for guesses is your idea of FUN? Sheesh.

4. He won't lose SC
He connects with South Carolina voters. I think he has more endorsements than all the other candidates combined. Although Dean has spent the most money there, Edwards leads every poll except the ARG poll (didn't they have Bush winning NH by a truckload the night before McCain spanked him?). He'll win.

5. Why would he drop out now
His stats are better than Bill Clintons, were at this time, and the polls are showing he is third in N.H.
