4. I have been wondering about these two as well.
Why would Braun kill the ticket? I like them both, but I don't really see Braun as having tons of baggage. The Republicans launched that investigation on her while in the senate, probably because she was an African-American female. No wrong doing was ever proven, it was all a smear campaign just like all the Clinton "investigations".

6. I think she
is too far left for the general population of voters to support her

8. I don't think she would kill the ticket either.
She is calming balance to Dean as well. I think she speaks with nice smooth elequence and makes good sense. She wouldn't win on her own but I like what she has to say about universal healthcare and women's issues.

20. Yeppers...
The Republicans want her out big time, Illinois is a big ticket state for all levels. Discredit a major Democratic and bam you might get a windfall of votes.

9. I don't think that she would kill the ticket
but I am unsure about her ability to debate Cheney. In some ways her perspective in the debates has been unique and I think that she might do well, but I don't know.

I think that whoever it is, it has to be someone who can immediately and forcefully counter Cheney's lies. My strongest memory of his debate with Lieberman was his comment that he had not made his money from his government interactions.........and there wasn't a peep out of the clueless Lieberman.

Lieberman actually thought that he had won that debate, too.

19. whatever...
CMB has more sense on minority and women issues then all the other candidate combined.
Dean could focus on rebuilding the US aboard and the ecomonic issues and she could focus on what she has be saying all this time.

5. No he's just forcing himself on her so he can get photos that make people
think the confed flag thing is behind him.

I heard that at the JJ dinner he forced himself on Hillary in the same way. He grabbed her hand and raised it in the air so that he could get a few pictures to help him out.

When he finished with her, she walked over to Kerry and grabbed his hand and struck the same pose.

10. Oh c'mon
Dean and Braun have been close throughout the race, there have been several instances of them chatting and laughing together after the debates, etc.

Dean "forced himself" on Hillary too? :eyes:

26. Hillary and Dean are friends
She got him a seat directly behind her for one of Clinton's State of the Union addresses. They worked together on health care. She actually probably knows Dean better than she does Clark.

13. I understand Al Sharpton was dancing with Paris Hilton!
and Senator Kerry was dancing with Matcom!

Actually, I made that up. But, so what! If we can figure out a way to make a candidate look bad cause he/she was dancing with another candidate then, what the hell!

11. I'm pretty sure I know what that picture means.
It means that Dean picked Moseley Braun for his dancing mate.

Wait a minute! Maybe she picked him. She's a very modern woman, you know, and if she wanted to dance, she wouldn't necessarily wait to be asked.

for a running mate. I think he'd be better off getting her in his cabinet, though.

14. Let's hope not
I like Senator Braun but she would be a lightening rod that would destroy any hope of Dean winning. You might as well have Hillary as VP.

First of all Braun is too liberal. There is no way that this country is enlightened enough to accept a black, female liberal as anybody's running mate.

Bush could probably sell Condi as his VP but the RW media dogs would tear a Dean/Braun ticket apart.

16. She is on my short list of Veep candidates.
And I think she would be a great choice. I thought that Carol or Dennis would be the best possible choice if Clark gets the nod.

Of course, I think Clark would be a great Veep for Dennis or Carol, too.

17. Alas, it was just a dance
I think we're reading too much into this. My take on it was that they were just having a good time. You could almost predict it given that poor Dean is basically shunned by the other candidates, whereas Carol doesn't feel too threatened by him and actually acknowledges him.

22. Dancing with VP choice?
If that's the case, I guess it was good that Dean didn't chose Clark as his VP.
And what if Kerry chose Lieberman.

Can you imagine what the right-wing nuts would have done with a picture of Dean and Clark dancing together or Kerry and Lieberman. <GASP!> Dean did sign that Civil Union bill, ya know! I knew we couldn't trust him. That gay rights agenda just wants to convert everyone!

(sarcasm intended)

18. Senators thrown out of office by voters don't make good runningmates
The people who should know her best, the voters of Illinois, have already passed judgement of Ms. Braun.

21. I don't know enough about her past to be able
to say whether or not this would be a good choice, but there's been a lot of personal chemistry shown between the two on more than just this "dance" occasion. I'm wondering about the VP slot too. Braun also defended Dean on the flag issue during that one debate. Not outright, but there was an undercurrent of support there.

I think the two of them genuinely like each other. I'm pretty sure she'll have some post in a Dean admin. Whether or not a vp slot is wise or possible, I'll have to  and say that I think it has some major possiblities for bringing women and minority attention to a Dean campaign.

23. She's Damaged Goods
If she had won reelection in 1998 I could see her as a VP candidate. Her campaign is a joke with really no organization to speak of.
