L.L. Cool J. - Edwards and the Gender Gap in NC
Edited on Tue Nov-18-03 02:55 PM by AP
One thing the article doesn't mention is that women generally prefer Democrats to Republicans by similar numbers nationally. I'm not sure if these numbers are unusual for a southern state, however.

This article addresses the poll that found Clark and Edwards closest to Bush in NC (a state Dems haven't won since '76) at 50-40 and 52-42, respectively.

EDWARDS, THE GENDER GAP
(11/17/03)
...

Among men, Bush's margin in the Tar Heel State grows to 57 percent to 38 percent.

But among women, the race is a statistical dead heat: Bush receives the support of 47 percent, compared to 46 percent for Edwards.

...

Forty-one percent of men believe Edwards is doing an "excellent" or "good" job as senator, compared to 53 percent of women who say that.

Likewise, the poll found that 51 percent of male voters in North Carolina approve of Edwards running for president, while 57 percent of women do.

5. Yeah, I thought most folk knew that
...but maybe it's because most of my amigos are seriously into music-- EVERY kind of music.

(However, I cannot see LLCoolJ's name without mentioning that he's part of the RIAA's team when it comes to downloading/sharing music on the internet. It just proves to me that Chuck D. always was the cooler dude, no matter what they say.)

6. LL Cool J has been totally coopted. You don't see Chuck D in sitcoms.

However, LL Cool J was really good in that anti-war Christmas movie with Robbin Williams.

But I just didn't make the connection. And I'm a lady, well, sort of. Maybe that's why I didn't make the connection! ha!

On edit:

How'd this get way down here? I thought I was responding to AP's post #3. Hmmm. I need a cup of coffee, get my brain charged!
