31. I voted for Kucinich
And I will vote for Kucinich in the primary when it comes. He is the only candidate that makes sense to me, considering the degree of government corruption we are under.

By the way, I am new here. Would anyone care to explain what "kick" means? Here is what I think it means. If you post a comment to an article, it helps keep it near the top of the list - right?

my dad is 62...lived outside of Cleveland his whole life

his words when he heard Dennis was gonna run

"my god, if they discount him they will be made to have egg on their faces"

Dennis has "huevos" as big as seabags

and for whatever reason, he can attract certain types of people, he is infectious, engaging, witty and above all else, smart and politically savvy

people fault him for the things that make him great

44. The last thing we need.
The last thing we need in the White House is a general! We need to get away from that "military mentality" and start working for peace. No, making war does not work for peace. Those who believe this are buying into the military - industrial propaganda we constantly get from our media controlled empire.

Currently, the USA is the world's most powerful nation. Instead of building empire (transnational corporate globalization, WTO, etc.), we should use our "powerful leverage" to turn the world away from war and start building institutions that work for peace. It will never happen otherwise! Do you want war or peace?

50. It's still Kucinich - big time!
Reading your links, You lost me quickly with this:

But despite my idealist, progressive soul, I have a practical brain. I know that mainstream America votes for white men with good hair and short last names. Kucinich, Moseley-Braun, and Sharpton don't stand a chance.

And you lost me even more with this:

And as much as I would like to envision a world in which a Kucinich, a Mosely-Braun, a Sharpton, or even a Dean could win the Presidency, the reality is they can't. Maybe pre September 11th they could have had a chance. But not now. I can't see moderates and centrists choosing instead of George dubya Bush a candidate with no national, international, or military experience. Of course, dubya had none of that experience going into the job either, but that's irrelevant now. At the moment, in the minds of many moderates, dubya has proven his skills in those areas. Those folks won't take a chance on Howard Dean in a head to head match up with Bush.

Your reasoning uses good old American propaganda, which our media has tried to brainwash us all with. But people are too smart for that.

Dubya his shown his skills??? Good lord, what planet are you living on today? Everything GWB has done is a bungled job, and I don't see any hope for improvement. This bungling is obvious, even in our major media - which is very Bush oriented. Everyday day we see more chaos!

To think that a military general could help in this situation is naive. Not that one couldn't, but Gen Clark has not said anything so far to convince me he wants to change the direction of our military - industrial empire. If we keep rattling swords around the world for our corporations, we can truly expect continued (and increased) violence against us. We need to change our direction towards peace and international cooperation, and Dennis Kucinich is the only one dedicated to that idea. I wish I could say 8 out of 9 of our candidates had that position, but only three do (Kucinich, Braun, and Sharpton), and Kucinich is the strongest.

If Dennis Kucinich was nominated, the Fall campaign would be the most exciting campaign you (we) ever saw in our lifetimes! He would be telling the American people the truth like they never heard it before. You think Americans won't vote for Kucinich in droves; if so, you're wrong. When the voters hear what he has to say in detail, there would be a landslide!

Words say much more than appearances, and all that other superficial stuff that we have been brainwashed to think.

Dennis Kucinich isn't about politics as usual (as Bill Clinton was, and Clark is).

51. If Kucinich can't get the nomination, how can he win the Presidency?
He's not even convincing Democrats to support his candidacy to get the nomination. Your thinking doesn't track: if he can't even win the base, how the heck is he going to win in November?

52. Media propaganda
Apparently you are not aware that all American media, except independent media, is controlled by only a few huge corporations. They are trying to control what we think! And if we allow them to convince us that Dennis Kucinich is unelectable, he will indeed be unelectable. But the election is really up to us - we, the people. We can figure out what the issues are and determine the best candidate - if we don't listen to the propaganda! We are intelligent; we have the capability.

By the way, corporate propaganda is not limited to influencing getting Republicans elected over Democrats. It is also aimed at getting the Democrat nominated who will do the least damage to their corporate Imperial agenda. This is exactly why they print more stories about Dean and Clark than they do Kucinich. They fear Kucinich the most.

In my article Dennis Kucinich is feared! Why is that?, don't be fooled by the poll results there; several right-wingers jumped on the poll to effect the results.

46. Okay, I surrender.
I've been waffling for mths(like any one cares about that). My primary need was for ABB.
At first I thought maybe Edwards could be the one. Smart, genuine, southern, and photogenic. But his "message" hasn't really caught much traction with very many folks.
On came the Dean Machine. My interest was raised up a notch by the fact that here was a Democrat who still had a pair and was willing to give voice to what the core of the Democratic party was feeling. But visions of McGovern started creeping in.Strong antiwar candidate with a lot of popular "buzz" who was summarily buried in the general election by a warmongering incumbent who was neck deep in an unpopular war with a weak economic record.
After flirting briefly with Kerry(decorated veteran, solid democratic credientials)I kept coming back his Iraq war resolution vote, his failure to use his position to further call out the current misadministration on social issues including tax reform,education,healthcare,environment,energy...and on and on and on.
So after much soul searching, and wailing and gnashing of teeth, I proclaim my candidate to be...drumroll please,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Wesley Clark
How inside/outside can you get than a decorated war veteran from Arkansas/Chicago,a Rhodes scholar, head of his class at West Point,Nato Commander who succesfully prosecuted the action in Bosnia without losing a soldier to hostile fire.
To be honest I don't know a lot about his positions on economic issues and such.At this point I'm more than willing to settle for an intelligent man not owned or controlled by halliburton et al.
I honestly think Clark could draw support from the uninformed voters who seem to blindly support shrub b'cause there patirotik murkins
As I said at the start. Anybody but bush.

48. All i know is...
I hope if Dean or Clark win the nomination that they make the other one their VP.

Id hope there would be a place for all of them that are in the running when it came time for a cabinet regardless of who takes the nomination!

We can take the white house back unless we all ultimately pull together!

I also think we as democrats need to do more work with green party members and to realise our common grounds and back each other against this republican government.
