Kerry and Edwards did not vote on this, which is terribly disappointing to me. :(

1. Durbin, Feingold and Bayh held firm against the tide... |
|
They made this one really tough for farm belt states...because of the increased use of ethanol.

but the rest of the corn belt dems caved, including Daschle, Dorgan, Dayton, Johnson, Nelson, Harkin and Conrad. It is hard to underestimate the power of the ethanol lobby here in the upper midwest.

2. As long as the Repugs don't have the 60 votes needed for cloture |
|
it doesn't matter how many votes are on the other side.

why Frist voted No. I don't get it. Could that be an error? Or seeing that he doesn't have 60, he votes against party position? What am I missing? Thanks in advance.

6. Wasn't there something about that he had to vote that way... |
|
For the bill to be brought back up later?
I'm sorry, I admit I'm not a Sen. Byrd-style expert in Senate rules.
