I dare you to read http://www.oasistv.com/news/11-21-03-story-2.asp and then watch the video at http://www.truthout.org/docs_02/03.28I.Kucinich.Prayer.htmThose of you who agree with Dennis Kucinich but don't think he can beat Bush must watch this. You must give our candidate a fair chance. Dennis Kucinich cannot be painted by the media. You have to find out for yourself. So, I dare you.

I am not neing sarcastic here. I would like to know how tall Kucinich is. The height factor has come into play in almost every Pres election.

I know you were joking RiF but you know, our candiates are only like an inch or so different in height, so I kinda chuckle when one of your fellow Dean supporters pokes fun at Kucinich's height, but I know you were joking around. Also I am taller than both of em that is Dean and Kucinich.

5. He is slightly taller than me. |

Based on a couple of face to face meetings and hand shakes.
I'm 5'6."
He weighs less, though.

Everybody seems to constantly confuse "he agrees with everything I want" with "he is qualified to be President of the United States".
If elected, I think he would be the least "qualified" President since the Civil War. FDR could be argued (and obviously did just fine), but he was at least a VP nominee (AND, of course, had a family name that Kucinich frankly lacks). Hoover was less qualified in many ways (and, of course, a failure to boot), but was a Cabinet secretary which is probably a couple rungs above the House.
In the history of this country we have NEVER elected a man out of the House of Representatives. Of hundreds of men and women who represent us in "our" House, there may be dozens with whom you agree close to 100%. IF elected president, they could be expected to act in the way you want them to. But that doesn't mean their resume' fits the bill.
He can't be elected President. NOT "he wouldn't make a good one".
In is defense though? The one man elected president who could best be argued to be "less qualified" than Kucinich?: Abraham Lincoln.

that we've never elected someone who was currently serving in the house of representatives. If memory serves, Lincoln was a US House member before later becoming president.
And I'm still voting for him. I'm in Texas, so ... does it really matter?

If you want people like him to get credibility than you need to give him votes - as long as it can't damage someone who can win.
And yes, I mean we never elected anyone out of the House. Lots of Presidents have served in the House on their way up to "greater" things, but they were always Cabinet Secretary, Senior militart, Senator, or (usually) Governor before being elected President. The main exception are those VPs chosen for reasons other than their electability as President who later got the nod for the big promotion (of course, VP is quite a bit higher than Congresscritter too).

And I agree, the Kooch is electable. Thanks for posting this, that is a great editorial, and the 'Prayer for America' speech is excellent.
For those who think Kucinich can't beat Bush: it must be realized that a great scope of people, from all points of the social and political spectrum, have vowed to vote "against" Bush in 2004. Essentially, whoever takes the dem nom is the choice for the "anti-Bush" crowd.
And believe me, the "anti-Bush" crowd includes more than just progressives & liberals. There are plenty of pissed off conservatives who are going to vote against Bush in 2004.
So why sacrifice one's ethics or principles so early in the game? Rubbish, I say. Vote your conscience. We don't have to "settle."

I speak to someone who literally CANNOT believe Kucinich is for real.
They're so used to 'politics as usual' that they have to see his record for themselves.
Sad that so many are helping to stack the deck against the best possibility for future generations of Americans, and dare I say, global citizens.
