MSNBC debate...fair & unbiased?
You decide.

....even if they do this to a candidate that you may not be supporting...yours could be next...again...the thing to remember is that they shouldn't be spinning this period!

If you feel this is not fair...please let them know in a civil manner, that you think this is unfair.
Thank you.

CAMPAIGN MEDIA WATCH

The upcoming MSNBC debate may prove to be fair and unbiased, but the signs are pointing against it. MSNBC is running promotions of the debate that show some of the candidates long enough and clearly enough to be recognized, but not Dennis Kucinich.

The Vice President of MSNBC in charge of promotions, Val Nicholas, told Kucinich for President Campaign Press Secretary David Swanson: "I don't have to be fair. That's not my job. My job is to get eyeballs to the debate. I just called the President of MSNBC and that's what he told me. I do promotions, not content."

Mr. Nicholas can be reached at 201-583-5371 or val.nicholas@msnbc.com

The President of MSNBC, Erik Sorenson, can be reached at 201-583-5050 or erik.sorenson@msnbc.com

Please be very polite and brief and give them the benefit of the doubt in your communications.
Demonstrate the best that Kucinich supporters are.

Please ask them to stop running the unfair promos and commit to making the debate fair to the candidates and the public, not just to an imagined impact on the number of viewers. In fact, you can point out that, judging by applause in earlier debates, they will increase public interest by making sure they give Congressman Kucinich fair time and do so early on.

1. Desertrose, you should post this to the campaign blogs.
The candidates should be aware of this.

3. Ask this guy if they're so concerned with ratings, why replace Donahue
with Savage?

Ask him why their north star doesn't seem to be ratings so much as it is avoiding any acknowledgement of liberalism and progressivism in the world.

8. Dennis needs to be given equal time
The problem is he usually wins - even when he has less time - and everyone is afraid he will completely crush the other candidates if he is given his fair share of the time. If they really thought they could hold their own, they would insist he be given equal time.

11. Nite nnns
actually I thought Tom Brokaw did a fairly decent job tonite all things considered...least it wasn't such a frigging circus like the other debates.

Brokaw gave everyone time & it didn't feel as pressured as the others- seemed weightier (is that a word?) than the others....maybe cause Brokaw is/was a serious reporter.....

Peace

12. Deaniacs Cheat on online poll
Here is what they are saying on the Dean Blog:
They are giving directions on how to CHEAT and
rig the poll at: http://www.iowapolitics.com/
in Dean's favor!

1. Vote
2. Tools > Internet Options > DELETE COOKIES
3. Delete Files
4. OK
5. Close Browser
6. Return to IowaPolitics.com
7. Vote again

Kerry is doing this, we might as well do the same!

Posted by POLL at November 24, 2003 06:22 PM

Just for the Deaniacs information, Kerry people are not
doing this....that's such an outrageous lie.
(Just add it to Dean's collection I guess.)

THESE Dean people doing this are Democrats?
How pathetic.

14. What? No comment from the Cheaters?
What? No comment from the Cheaters? I heard that this was a forum where we could mix it up as long as we were polite. What's the matter cheaters, afraid of a few facts?

16. Uncalled for
Because someone on the Dean blog posted a way to "cheat" in an online poll, that means all Dean supporters are cheaters? Come on. I think it's a small percentage of people willing to do this, I have better things to do.

"what's the matter cheaters, afraid of a few facts?" LOL. Take a break.

15. I agree that this is juvenile and pointless
It's an online poll, ridiculous. I never vote in those, but some people seem to think they are meaningful. Remember the CNN poll where Clark got something like 1.5 Million votes? Too easy to rig.

As for this particular one, how do you know the Kerry people aren't doing this? Just asking. Every candidate likely has its immature members who would do this.

Edited on Tue Nov-25-03 01:17 PM by Sully
The answer to that should be self evident. But, no in fact we requsted that folks vote properly on both the Kerry forum and blog.

19. I hope this is the only instance
of a Dean supporter encouraging others to cheat, and instructing them on how to do so.

Low.
