AZ: Lieberman gains DeConcini support
Expected to place name on ballot

Nov. 25, 2003 12:00 AM

Sen. Joe Lieberman, in his quest for the White House, is adding former colleague Dennis DeConcini to the list of his Arizona supporters.

Lieberman will make the announcement today at the state Capitol, where he's also expected to place his name on the ballot for Arizona's Feb. 3 primary during his appearance from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.

But he won't be the first Democratic presidential candidate to file in Arizona. Papers will be filed on behalf of former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean at 8 a.m. by his Arizona campaign manager, Frank Costanzo.

DeConcini said that of the 10 candidates vying for the Democratic nomination, Lieberman stands out as an honest man with high ethical standards.
