Dean campaign catches Bush ad editing...
as reported in the New York Times....

It seems that the repugs cleaned up Bush's flub in the sentenced used for the ad....

and it was the Dean campaign that caught it:

"The difference between the speech and excerpt was noticed by strategists for former Gov. Howard Dean of Vermont. They saw it as they put together their own advertisement attacking the spot, which presents the Democratic candidates as undermining the fight against terrorism. Word trickled back to Democratic officials, who retrieved the tape and confirmed that there was, indeed, a difference."

go here for the full story:

http://www.nytimes.com/2003/11/25/politics/25ADS.html

It is this attention to detail and rapid response that will make the Dean campaign a formidable machine in the general election!!!

If you noticed the last Iowa JJ Diner, the Edwards' campaign had cleverly placed one of those blimps that fly around stadiums behind every speaker, so that no matter who was speaking, Edwards for President was behind them...but when the Doctor came up to speak, Dean supporters got in front of the blimp and raised a huge Dean campaign sign, blocking it out....

Attention to detail, rapid response, feet on the ground, money raising by using hundreds of thousands of small doners....this is the success of the Dean campaign....

Oh, and the candidate's kinda good too

1. Great catch.
I agree, this is what Democrats have been lacking in recent campaigns - someone to catch, and JUMP ON the Repuke distortions and lies. Nip it in the bud, before it becomes a "truth" like Gore inventing the Internet, etc.

I'm still torn between Dean and Clark, but I like this A LOT. Way to go, Dean team.

Shades of 1984...re-writing history to make the "leader" look unbeatable...

I wonder how many man hours went into making bush sound less drunk. Could you imagine having that job? "Yes, my job is to make the leader of the United States sound like he could actually be qualified to be the leader of the United States." Talk about an interesting resume.

on edit....do you think the job was outsourced??

4. Which job? bush's or the shrub's tape editor?
If it was the former, maybe they outsourced it to India. Would explain the speech problems better.
