Bush's turkey-trip shows how much he fears Hill'
He would not have risked his life to upstage any of the lesser candidates - oh yeah - even though she's not running (nudge, nudge, wink, wink). Her trip to ashcanistan was public - not snuck in under the cover of darkness. But he got ALL the headlines and photoop coverage.

2. Rove is worried about the AWOL tag that is now common in letters to editor
Check online newspapers from different parts of the country regularly and one will notice AWOL being used more and more.

here's a handy link to find online newspapers:

Keep up the good work, people. It must be getting to them.

3. I think there's another important angle to this: man vs woman
I saw the pictures of Hillary in Afghanistan. She ate at a table of all women soldiers.

What she's doing is trying to prevent the war from being used as a tool in an anti-feminist backlash. Since 9/11 it has become very hard for liberal women to win elections. And with Joe Millionaire, and those other anti-women degrading shows on TV there's been a lot of backsliding, culturally, since the Clinton years.

I think that if it had been an equally popular Democratic man who went over there, Bush wouldn't have been so compelled to go to Iraq now.

I remember, one of the more interesting images from the Kosovo days was when good liberal Sheryl Crow went over at Christmas (I believe it was). That image really stuck with me for some reason. I think Bush knows how powerful those images of Hillary would have been.

5. According to the 2 articles that I read
He was planning this trip in mid-October. Unless he knew about Hillary's trip then, it was probably just some sort of coincidence.

The troops sure seemed to get excited about him being there.

6. So how come they had to get Chicken Dick to take all those calls they
arranged for the shrubster to make for Thanksgiving? Planned weeks ago? Don't buy that one!
