Governor Dean Eats Puppies (The Drinking Game)! |
|
When you see a particularly egregious (or repetitive) assault on logic in an effort to discredit the good doctor (or even the other candidate of your choice!) - turn it into a game (idea originally Nazgul's - my apologies for posting it out before you)! You either drink (my preference) or send your favorite candidate a dollar (or more).
Any suggestions?
Here's one to get us started. I'll send Dean $1 everytime one of his bashers (you know who you are) says something to the effect that when Dean spoke out against Bush's war, it was bad for the country!
Come on, it's fun for the whole family!

3. "Dean is mostly to blame for the war" must be worth $5! |
|
or more! This is the most outrageous claim ever (but I expect worse any day now), that Dean being the voice against the war was what caused this war. I'm waiting for the link that shows Dean's signature in the PNAC docs now.

No reply. Today, I posted this: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=108&topic_id=8500&mesg_id=8500#8872and again, no retraction, no reply. Some people would rather spread outrageous lies (NO state is at 9.4%) than verify facts.

22. Probably is close to 9 percent |
|
Considering when you factor in those no longer collecting unemployment at the national level, unemployment is getting near 12 percent. Once you go past one year in an employment nose dive, the national figures dont reflect what is actually happening anyway.
You knoew, jow on the news they always state that the figures dont inclide those who are no longer eleigible for unemployment, or have stopped looking for work. The large numbers of homeless in America have fallen off of those figures for years.

you make my tummy hurt with all of your jokes.
(BTW, in order for you to make your number meaningful, you have to compare it with the country or other states with the same statistic. And when you do that, Vermont comes out near the top, as when you use other more conventional measures - so cut the crap already).

...and a crisp new dollar bill goes to Gov. Dean.
In response to Nick,
If you have a government or other reliable site that takes the whole picture into consideration and posts real unemployment rates, please provide a link. And unless you can prove that Vermont has a higher number of "uncounted unemployed" than everyplace else, it makes no difference - all of the rates would then go up and Vermont would STILL have one of the lowest unemployment rates in the nation.

15. If Dean Had Run For The Senate, We Wouldn't Be In Iraq |

With Dean's decisive vote, we could have convinced Gephardt to support Biden-Lugar. Dean saw the writing on the wall, and opted for Governor instead - just to spite Kerry in 2004. This man is a cold and calculating son of a bitch. He will stop at nothing to foil his arch-rival, Kerry. Even send us to a senseless war without UN sanction. That's cold blooded.

|
with Gephardt. I could tell Gephardt noticed she said his name wrong, but he didn't correct her. I thought it funny. Instead, Gephardt used the last name Dean, and carefully avoided letting her on to her mistake. Surley if he would said Howard, she would have realized her mistake and apoligized for it. Gephardt was crafty in his approach, I wonder how he keep from laughing.

They yell "Yucca Mountain" or "Sierra Blanca" ALL of the time. Neither make a hell of a lot of sense, but that doesn't seem to slow them down any.
(For those not familiar with "Love Boat", it's a drinking game where a group of people watch an episode of....you've got it...."Love Boat" and each player chooses a character. They then have to drink every time that character is shown. Those who want to drink a LOT pick either the boat or the ocean...)

At the Gov's website i've seen bloggers set up anti-troll donation funds to raise cash everytime a troll posts in a blog...i've been looking and if anyone else sees it before I do, let's get an anti-Howard Dean DU fund set up and then we could show these idiots how much cash they've raised for the good governor everytime they post this nonsense!!!
Or you could drink! I'm certainly not against that! How's about drinking and sending in cash!!
I think we should notice how they have left this thread alone...kinda think they're scared that we are sending in the cash everytime they make idiotic posts (PS: I did send in $20 last night >:>)...
If anyone can make that DU fund appear, start a thread with the information...we can all post a link to the offending thread and how much we sent! Then we can update these fools when we raise $100k!!!!
(PSS: I would suggest that every body do this for their own candidate, as there is far too much dem bashing going on and not enough candidate praising....seems like people think the only way to win is to stand on the dead carcus of the vanquished enemy...)

There was a post from Nic_J that deserved a drink or a donation at least; something about how Dean running for Pres. and not practicing medicine is probably saving lives in Vermont. Sheesh. 54. I'm going to give for the post |
|
that was about a mile long and supposed to be negative about Dean's budget and health care -- I read it,ignoring his blithering commentary, since it wasn't just an opinion piece. Dean may not have always been popular, especially in the budget-cutting years we've been in recently, but I don't want a president that just tries to please everyone. Many Vermonters have expressed on this forum that they may not have always agreed with Dean, but they respect him and the tough decisions he made.
In any case, $10 to Dean tonight for that time-consuming post when I should be working!

...just to hit both ends of the spectrum...very small in this case, (very large if I have to scroll)..

$1 for every ill-intended article posted here today by the more obsessive anti-Dean deprogrammers...
On the other hand, it's nice to see that Dean articles, postive or negative, seem so easy to find on the internet. No wonder he's a frontrunner.

65. KEEP THIS CAMPAIGN ALIVE!! |
|
Edited on Tue Aug-05-03 02:02 AM by MercutioATC
Campaign contributions are good, but it's more important to make the posts supporting Dean and explaining exactly why the donations are being made.
It's sort of like a Skinner box (strange coincidence with the "Skinner" thing, no?). Skinner boxes are used to teach lab rats behaviors. The rats get a positive stimulus for a "good" behavior and a negative stimulus for a "bad" behavior in an effort to get them to achieve a specific task. By posting in response to the offending threads, we get the "skinner" effect of providing a negative stimulus to the offending "bad" negative post.

I don't discuss politics at work unless I'm asked (I do wear a Dean button on my headset and have a Dean bumpersticker on my car, though).
Over the past month, I've had three co-workers ask me about Dean, look into things further on their own, and express support for him. Three isn't a lot, but it's a start.
Every gain we make is important, regardless of how small.

70. Bump indeed! Off to Meetup! |
|
Always fun to come home from a long day and read all this stuff...apparently a rabid poster has come and gone already (deleted messages everywhere, and a tombstone), Nick has said that Dean is more conservative than Bush and that it's "the beginning of the end" for our increasingly popular Governor from Vermont, and so it goes...
And with that...I'm off to Meetup, where we will no doubt be overflowing our current venue, to write letters to undecided Dems in New Hampshire.
Wheeeeee! See you guys after Meetup!

Though I think I need to donate tonight for the sideswipe he took at Dean's deceased father. Is nothing sacred?

79. If you're contributing today...check this out! |
|
<and why not, there's plenty of nonsense on this forum today that would drive me to contribute, if not drink>
Please contribute through my Dean Team Leader website, which is on the Home Page as the Featured Website! Just go to www.deanforamerica.com and check out the pink box with the featured site -- that's mine! And that's a photo of my daughter on the 4th of July.
I had no idea it was up there until someone sent me an email asking about it. I did this page as a draft about 2 weeks ago and forgot about it, haven't had time to work on it. So it's still kind of new, but they picked it anyway.
Cool, eh?
Please contribute through my site!

Or if you're like me, just donating!
Today I'll be at the County Fair, registering Democrats who will hopefully vote No on the Recall, and working at a Dean table.
Or I could just sit here and respond to all the "Dean's a liar" posts. What do you guys think?

if you think it's bad now...wait until we get close to the primaries....these clowns are going to be working overtime....
But i'm not worried, cause while they are on here, verbally masturbating themselves, i'll be out canvassing neighborhoods, passing out flyers, writing letters to the editor, registering dems to vote......than we'll see who's gonna win!!!
Oh yeah...since to day is sooo bad...i'm going to drop in my $50 monthly donation to Dean for all the yahoos from this past week....
