Scandal Brewing in Colorado(Gov. Bill Owens)????
Is there a possible scandal about to break regarding Bill Owens's recent decision to seek a divorce from his wife? I recall some DUers saying that they've heard rumblings, and the Denver press is sitting on something big.

Any more concrete info?

2. I bet he's going to regret this decision...
Owens stops bill aimed at sealing divorce records

Gov. Bill Owens vetoed a bill Sunday that would have sealed some divorce records, saying it kept too much information from public view and hampered efforts to monitor family courts.

3. Yes..
There is a scandal brewing and this one is going to pop it wide open. I was privy to confidential information, but I promised that I wouldn't release it, because we're pushing the local media to blow it wide open for us.

4. If the media doesn't report on it...
Then you have a moral obligation to do it yourself.

I'd start with Josh Marshall.

7. If it's true, good news for 2008
Owens was probably the most dangerous of of the three presumptive frontrunners(the other two being Mitt Romney and Jeb Bush).

Romney will be brought down in 2006 by his opposition to gay marriage(most Mass. citizens are in favor of the SJC's decision) and I believe the Mass. Democratic Party will finally unite to send a Democrat to replace him.

Jeb won't be elected because in the case that * wins, I think America will be suffering from Bush fatigue and will be ready for a change.

9. Colorado has recall laws.....
Hawkeye, would this scandal rise to the level at which it would be possible to run a recall campaign against Owens.

If so I'd assume Ken Salazar would be the frontrunner to be the next Governor of Colorado.

11. I believe that Greg Dobbs on KNRC-AM radio
talked about this the other day. http://www.knrcradio.com/ They have streaming audio, btw. Dobbs speculated about a pregnant nanny. But that seems kind of wild. And it would have come out already, IMO - even though Colorado is working on becoming a 100% red state.

About his being a presidential candidate, I just can't see it. He's so quiet and namby pamby. I don't see him as having a broad, nationwide appeal. But if there's some scandal that knocks him out of the competiton, I'd be glad. Frankly, I miss Gov. Lamb!
