Latest poll: Bush 42% Generic Dem: 48%!!!! |
|
There are some other polls that don't look quite as good, but they're still pretty good. http://pollingreport.com/wh04gen.htm

2. It looks to me as if the key might be undecided women |
|
Edited on Wed Dec-03-03 07:17 PM by david_vincent
Women are more likely than men to vote Democratic, yet 11% of women remain undecided. If the Democratic candidate can sway 7 or 8% of the undecided women without losing any men, Governor Bush might be toast. on edit: of course, I mean earning the votes of a majority of the undecided women, not merely 7 or 8% of them.

5. I think it is significant |
|
that, in the Newsweek poll with the question:
"In general, would you like to see George W. Bush reelected to another term as president, or not?" Independents prefer the unnamed Democrat by a margin of 54%-40%, with 7% undecided. I really think the Independent vote will be the largest factor in this election. A 14% difference at this point is HUGE!!!

7. How can I ensure that "Generic Dem" wins the nomination??? |
|
Or have we seen a poll yet where "specific Dem currently in the race" leads Bush?
Reagan & Clinton were both behind in one on one polls at this point. Bush I was ahead (obviously with a high approval). All three were "wrong".
What can we take from this poll? Nothing. We can't run "a Democrat to be named later"

11. No. We're running nine specific Democrats. |
|
Each with their own pros and cons and name recognition. None of which adds up right now to leading Bush.
People are saying "I'd like to see a Democrat over Bush", but they are also saying "right now, I don't like any of the current Democrats more than Bush". There is a BIG difference. The poll means Bush CAN be beaten... but not by just anybody.
Maybe they want Gore again? Or Hillary? Or they don't know.

VERY encouraging news! Please help me go to New Hampshire and do my part to sow more doubt with the truth, as a working journalist. I need HELP. I can't do it alone. I specifically need donors, small and large, and on the ground volunteers in NH, California and Florida. Victory (the riddance of vermin from the WH) is at hand.

I'm pretty suspicious of the new polls showing chimpy's popularity skyrocketing.
