My name is Richard Morrison and I am running to be District 22’s representative in the US Congress. I am taking on this task because I do not believe that Tom DeLay’s continued presence in Congress adds to the “sum of good government” as defined by Jefferson. His abuse of power and unethical fundraising are constant, and make national headlines daily. The people of District 22 deserve better.

The first step in the process is winning the Democratic nomination in the primary in March. The good news is that my campaign has received national attention; the bad news is that the pundits say that it will be difficult to beat Tom DeLay because he has so much money.

Many of you have already signed up to support my campaign, some have contributed your hard-earned dollars. Some of you have met me at a rally or political event. Thank you so much for your support. Thanks to you this challenge seems less overwhelming every day.

If I had the bucks to donate right now I would give them to you. Unfortunately the Bush economy has cut our income by 1/3 and we're just struggling to get by.

It's awesome that you are running against Tom Delay. Nobody deserves to lose their job more than he does. He is a despicable and loathsome piece of garbage that should be in jail for all the questionable, unethical things he's done; but fat chance that will happen. The most we can probably hope for is that he loses his House seat.

You probably know that it won't be easy and I admire your courage in taking on this crook. I don't believe he's ever had a serious challenger, has he?
