Gore didn't owe Joe anything. Heck, Joe wouldn't be running for president or known around the country if not for Gore picking him for VP in '00. Then what does Joe do to repay him? he criticizes the campaign he ran and backs Bush up on the question of military ballots in the Florida recount--ballots postdated after the election. On policy questions Gore seems to have evolved and like Dean disapproved of a war Joe enthusiastically supported.
