Pennsylvania Poll: Bush vs. Unnamed Dem 44-44
Looks like Pennsylvania will be another key battleground in '04.

Bush and Unnamed Democrat are deadlocked 44-44 which indicates at this early stage of the race that Bush is vulnerable in the state.

Among life and blood candidates, Kerry does best in the state losing to Bush by 47-40.

Dean loses by 49-39.

Clark loses 47-37.

Lieberman loses 49-37.

The good news is that they all keep Bush under 50%.

In the race for Democratic nomination, Dean is leading:

Dean: 19%
Lieberman 12%
Kerry 10%
Clark 10%
Gep 6%
rest are 3% or less

1. Although Great News for My Guy...
...I hasten to point out that the margin of error is extremely high in this poll, and the sample collection window is pretty wide. I'm also puzzled by the 5% African-American figure in the sample, which seems a little light for Pennsylvania.

And the Pennsylvania contest is still many weeks away.

Work hard, folks.

3. Census says that PA is 9.8% African-American
And since IMHO PA will depend on the Philadelphia turnout, underemphasizing the African-American vote here strongly helps Bush.
